Great to see Billy......finally got the beast all nice 'n legal.
We'll be in touch soon.
I beg to differ, a lot of trucks pass through Port Augusta Saturday arfo, the eastern transport companies heading to Perth to be there Monday morning. If you leave Adelaide 'after the morning rush hour' on a 250 you'll be smack bang in the middle of a lot of trucks heading east west.
And somewhere for the bikes if it's raining..
But the Wirrulla pub has better beds than the camp ground
Must be Sunday then, when we travel up to Coober Pedy and Whyalla we always seem to have less traffic south of Augusta if we leave later in the morning, have noticed this more on Wednesdays, but memory a bit jaded today, could be the Sunday as well, but don't listen to me.... Kipo lives there.. He should bloody well know!
Just notice a lot of trucks through here on Sat arfos. Also, I used to work for a company that owned Mozzies Truck stop at Ceduna and Saturday evening was one of the busiest times, Port Augusta in the arfo, Ceduna by evening.
RR is gonna be one bloody monster effort..... not lookin forward to puttin that together....
Beer night sounds like the go, heading back down the south east on thurs for 6 days or so.... so will have to be after that....
might even make a start on the ride report before this ride report while i'm down there
Con, PM already sent to Bill regarding Sept 1st.
This Sat is looking a little shaky weather wise with showers forecast.
See if it turns around near the end of the week otherwise I'm painting more friggen bedrooms this weekend
cheers Sol, I up for the ride on 1st sep no worries....
A few showers is ok Con, don't you have some good gear???? Wont rain that much if its only showers, would you rather paint bedrooms?????/
Me and a few mates are planning an Adventure ride from Eudunda through to the Gawler ranges and looping back.
Anyone done a trip to the parts before that can recommend a route.(preferably 80% dirt.) Will be approx 6 days.
I am not really familar with this area as I always blast up to Ceduna on the blacktop in my car.
Done a few searches and have not come up with much.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Not off the table yet mate....lets play it by ear.
Showers might just be early morning so no big deal.
Painting every night now to get the Sat clear.
Sun is work Social Club winery tour
Saturday arvo makes me a starter but only if the water doesn't come up from below
Tell me about it Con, I'm currently ripping out & replacing the kitchen ceiling & cornices, putting in a complete new flatpack kitchen & new appliances, new skirting boards, re plumbing & re wiring everything, polishing the floorboards, ripping out the old a/cond & bricking up the hole in the wall, hard plastering & then painting the ceiling & walls, I'm so over it, would rather be out on my KTM somewhere..
Option B is to get to Gawler as mentioned then up through Tarlee, Rhynie, Auburn, Clare, Gulnare, Gladstone, Wirrabara to Wilmington then take Horrocks Pass to hwy 1 just south of PA. Slower trip but fewer trucks and not as batshit boring. The Hwy 1 motel at PA has cheapish rooms if you want a roof over your head.
Thanks.....look out for a Super Sherpa with lots of crap on the back around October 12th!
Anyone have there tires balanced and if so where did you get it done and how much? Want to get rid of the slap from the rim lock on the roads.
GC's on the Main North Rd near Radio Rentals (Next to Liberty Service Station), tell them we sent you!
I balance my own.
With rim locks I use screw on spoke weights.
