That helmet needed teachin' a lesson real good!!
Ozjuju mate just a small tip the tenere is not a trials bike, but hats off for the effort at 40km/h.
Wishing you a fast recovery, hopefully you get back to the saddle soon!
And take care bad luck comes in trees
I'd could be up for a mid week ride depending on the day.....sounds like a good day on the bike to me!
Just come to SA from the eastern states and a keen Adventure rider. Have two BWW 650s, a Dakar and a X Challenge and keen to latch onto regular riders either on the weekend or weekday. Live in Kingswood and flexible with ride times.
Welcome aboard GG. A great bunch of blokes here IMHO!
Usually plenty of choice for rides - both local and longer trips.
We're pretty well scattered all over the place, which makes for plenty of options.
Welcome Graham. Quite a strong crew of adv riders here in SA with loads of riding options. Have a think about the Flinders Classic (see thread) you would meet a fair cross section of local riders up there.
Yep Advrider.com's been great for me, after getting back into riding last year after a long break I had no one to ride with, but now after being on here for a short while I've made heaps of new riding freinds and been on lots of great rides, thanks everyone and thanks to Adventure riders.com
Thanks for the welcome guys - what is the best way to find out about the rides or make contact with those planning rides in the future.
Hope you are settling in well Graham, you guys in SA have an asset in Graham put him to good use (he's very handy with the map!)
Ride safe post pics and hope to catch up soon.
Long way to go though, so you didn't have to ride with Sams new Orange Crusher!
Maps eh........Iz read about them things........
Last time one of you fancy eastern stater types bought somethin' across the border 'twas poofterin'.........
And it was my sad duty to tell all the fellas they was Doin' it all wrong.........:ymca
Hey Pete, maybe we should organise a 'welcome aboard' ride. I know it's close to Christmas an' all, but I need to bed in the suspension on the Tenere once I pick it up from Hoey, probably Monday, and I'm very eager to see how it travels.
I see that GG has got a stable of BMW's, do we need to carry any special tools, emergency beacons, coffee grinds??
Got a couple of commitments down at the shack over the next few weeks though, had a flexihose let go under the sink on the top floor early in the week (for a few days ).....so me and the insurance company have some dancing to do.....but I might be able to take part in something.
I guess we could also think about a mid-week ADV Christmas drink up at One Tree Hill??
Big Jas is on A/L till the 10th so I'm chained to the grindstone till then.
BUT! OTH pub sounds good!
Weather is looking perfect on Monday too
Graham, fill out your profile.
It will help us work out who is the easiest for you to hook up with.
Thinking of doing a ride down at the beach at Goolwa in coming weeks.
Need to get in some practice on soft sand with the Big Girl.
Will post a date on case anyone's interested. Could finish off with a ride down the Fleurieu or back of Meadows.
I'd bring some score cards, if I had a bike, and could ride
Let's see what happens. Am working outside today and might put in some time on the DRZ400E.......looks like I've decided to sell it, not riding it and just spent $450 on rego....this is gonna hurt, big time.
Sell the DRz :eek1 what are ya gunna do the PARs on?
I just let my DRz rego run out & when I need it I'll just whack 3 mths on it over the Internet.
A cheaper way of doing it.
Would like to see that, worst part is getting from the carpark to the beach through the dunes, after that you should be fine.
Last time I let my bike rego run out for a while the nice people down at the rego dept. sent me a letter saying if you're not going to register your bike we want our number plates back, I guess this is their way of getting you to rego your vehicle wether you're using it or not, it worked, nice scam hey, gotta love that crafty gubberment.
I've got one of mine on seasonal rego. Bike has to be registered for a minimum of 3 months per year. Organised over the phone with transport SA.
