Just got back from some good southern hospitality. Met up with Bubba for a run from the southern suburbs down through all the best roads to Goolwa. Hit the beach for a run to the mouth. Then off through some more beautiful country to mount barker.
From their we parted ways, and I knocked out another 200 km to get home. 500 km all up for me today, and I met a great bloke in Bubba.
Good to hear Matt.
Yep....Bubba's OK too....been on a couple of rides together so far.
Some nice country down south.
Good to know that you got home in one piece Matt!
Awesome day hope we can repeat it soon!
On the way home I hit ANOTHER bug :eek1 :huh my neck looks quite out of shape now.
Time for that neck buff thingy.
At work chewing on non drowsy antihistamine and still feeling feeling drowsy .
Speed Week's on 2013 and I want to go and watch.
What's the spectator value? good or otherwise?
Do you have to take a heap of supplies? The website paints it pretty good.
The road out to the Eyre Highway Ceduna way, any good?
Never been myself, bit Godsilla over on the ACT adv thread is an avid follower (and ex-pat SA). He'll have all you need to know.
Start a "speed week 2013" thread in the main Oz forum & watch the replies flood in.
they have fuel and beer at mt ive,the road from mt ive to wirrulla is not to bad at the moment, not sur e about from iron knob to mt ive but guess it would be ok ,had bugga all rain out there this year, grader crew is out there somewhere.never been to speed week either it seems to rain around that time most years.
Hey Barnacle Bill
I have been to Lake Gardner however not during Speed Week.
I rode west to Kimba then wandered tracks north to Gawler Ranges National Park. We entered the Park at Paney Homestead, headed up through the park then on to Lake Gardner. We left Lake Gardner and went home via Mt Ive Station through to Iron Knob. It was one of my best trips.
There's not much if any services north of Kimba with the exception of Mt Ive and some rainwater tanks in the park which I wouldn't rely on.
The tracks were mildly technical in a few places with some sand in places of mild to medium difficultly.
Make sure that you watch Worlds Fastest Indian before you go! Have a great trip!!

Thanks PBee, thanks Arborsmarty.
I did open a thread on the main page, haven't heard a cracker at this stage, maybe tonight when the pilgrims return from Mecca.
But good to get some knowledge from the locals.
Give it time, I'll bump it now and then. It's had over a hundred views.
Keep an eye out for inmate God of speed.

Just don't go when it's wet which unfortunately as Aub says, has been nearly every year lately
A great "Adventure" worth enduring all the same

Honda World (also Ducati World), from 1 Jan 2013 is changing its name to Adelaide Moto, and is taking over Adelaide BMW's bike dealership at the same time (great news for BMW owners!).
Martin runs a pretty good show there, IMO - I wish him well. Told me today he's a little nervous about the big changes (new name AND new brand), but anxious to see the the beemer owners get much better service than they were getting from the current dealership.
