I tell a lie ... theres still fuel at Karoonda store.:thumb ... but thats not far from Tailem Bend so you probably wouldn't need any by then, unless you have a DR650 with a stock tank :cry

It's about time the DR got a Safari upgrade ey Ozzy :D

p.s. just got back from a nice ride with the little munchkin and her new DriRider (10th birthday present). She was nice and warm up top but the trackies over the jeans over the tights just don't cut it in the Adelaide Hills in winter. Looks like some pants to suit the jacket are in order. She did ask me why we were going so slow.... When she is 18 and on her own bike she can go as fast as she wants but until then its precious cargo speed... Great to spend the time with her though.:D

I think those safari suits only came in 3 colours.

Missed this post, sorry mate! So far, it's looking like a good option. Would cater well for those with fuel issues.

Whats the track from Mopoke Hut to Hattah like! How does it compare with the track heading north from Rocket Lake? (Just trying to gauge the amount of soft sand we'll be dealing with).

There is sand on most of the eastern side of the park Pheeneys is the best and most fun on the bigger bikes Settlement rd the top one the easiest I do recall sand south of Settelment to Rocket lake and sand down to Mopoke hut and out to Hattah as well its all doable with the right tyre pressures and cooler weather. The southern side and I mean all of it is some of the hardest riding I've ever done with the bike fully loaded stay away from the Sunset Trk bloody hard work.My two cents for you guys Loxton Taplan Gate South bore Pheeneys Rocket Lake and head north Lake Cullirane has the only fuel other than Hattah or Mildura and Underbool and Murrayville to the south hope this is of some help Cheers Emu.

Thinking of rideing up to Farina on June long weekend , Farina Sat, Anchorichina Sunday, lap of PAR? back home Sun. Aparently might be a few Bikes at Farina for a rally.:1drink You in Ozzy, could use some of your tracks past Clare, some back gravel roads to Hawker(through Johnburg) and if time, along the railway to Parachilna.
