You are on for Rubicon Sunday? Alrighty then! Loon Lake start?
Tell me the time.
I will ride the Ladies Bike.
Will ride from my house.
Anyone up to join for a start of week ride. Either monday/tuesday. Thinking of henness pass or maybe heading west and riding out of williams through mendocino forrest. Big bike friendly ride(I will be on an F800). Let me know if interested on either day.
Ugly dusty out there right now, but chance of rain/snow in the Sierras on Monday .. If that happens I may be in for the Sierras on Tuesday.
Let me know if you go out Monday. :)
I'm busy Monday but Tuesday might work.
Gonna leave tomorrow morning around 8ish from roseville. Thinking of doing Mendocino Forrest area out of williams. Maybe up to goat mountain and back over to stoneyford... Pretty much up around that area. If interested let me know
Wet dirt is calling me in the Sierras, so i plan to head that way tomorrow. If anybody is interested we could meet in Colfax around 9AM. Route depends on the snow and temps. It would be nice to head up Lowell Hill or the powerline Rd to Hwy 20 and on to Bowman/Graniteville (or Washington/Graniteville) and perhaps Plumbago to Alleghany. The DOT cams show snow sticking 5000 ft now near Blue Canyon. I will be a on big bike (950).
Which way you you plan on leaving Colfax? If I can get my act together in the morning I'll try and meet you. I'm coming over from Grass Valley
I ended up getting a late start so needed to do a quicker ride... Headed up past Forrest hill and rode Chicken Hawk and around in that area.. It was cold!
Brrr!! That was at 12:30 today? Wow. That's a little cold for my blood. Call me a fair-weather rider if you want. :/ Maybe I'll change my mind when I get some heated gear.
How is Chicken Hawk? I've only riddent Mosquito Ridge in that area. Would love to explore up there a bit more. Is is dirt/gravel, or paved?
(As you can see, I'm still somewhat new to ADVRider, so if there's a link to routes/descriptions somewhere, please direct me to it. Thanks)
It's dirt/gravel.... Pretty easy riding, but still fun and looks nice this time of year.
About half of the section was closed off so I only did a short portion.
If you take Gorman Ranch Rd from Mosquito Ridge, you can basically ride that all the way to michigan bluff, where you then connect with Chicken Hawk, and can ride that back up to Forrest Hill Rd.... From there you can ride up around sugar pine or ride back down and ride Yankee Jims or the roads in that area.
Been a while since I've been to the buttes. Looks nice
Anyone riding tomorrow for veterans day?
I was thinking about riding from Colfax to Washington(town) to Alleghany on the 950 or 570Berg, but need to back near Colfax by 3.
Which route are you taking? Chalk bluff?
Probably Chalk Bluff, Lowell Hill Rd, or the powerline easement rd to Bear Valley.. or could even route thru Nevada City and out Casci Rd to 20 if anybody is coming from that area.
Beyond that I was thinking of Alpha Rd to Washington and a little known Rd across Poorman Creek to Graniteville Rd, and Plumbago to Alleghany.
What time you thinking of leaving? I'll be coming up from roseville
