Anyone ride one in the rain yet? Where does the water go? Looks like a helluva comfy design but that water trap...

buy it on amazon... 319 shipped for mine...

spent half a day on my se yesterday... couple hours of dirt and couple of slab and man o man... if you were riding with the stock seat on your SE you are going to really love this seat...
as far as the rain catcher is concerned... i figure my but it big enough to probably keep the rain out while riding... and if it gets rained on over night... just use a rag and wipe it off... dont think it is a big deal...

The only one I can find is a"low profile" and I don't want to lower the seat. Which vendor did you use?

I think parts unlimited carries the seat, stop by a local moto parts shop and it should be available

If I had to guess the standard seats are on back order or something.

Nice review, but it would have been better if the rider described the exact difference in 'feel' having the 'taint section vs. a stock seat.

I have the Saddleman seat for my 990A, and so far, I hate it.

That aside its a very nicely built product, the suede grips well, when it rains it doesn't retain water.

With the Saddleman (non-low profile) you sit more in the machine than on. The "track" keeps your tail bone from getting bruised, but I don't think its comfortable at all... Hell I think the stock seat was better. I am going to give it more miles to see if I just need to break my butt into the seat, but so far, I am disappointed.

If you commute, and the bike is going to be in the sun all day, take something to cover the seat. The gel absorbs a lot of heat and stays hot. It feels like you have the heat on for the whole hour ride home, gets down right uncomfortable.

I may be willing to sell or trade this seat in the near future if anyone is interested.

Here is some pictures of the seat. Only arrived today from the States, bike has forks off so no testing for a week or so while Teknik springs come.

Also Note I have NO affiliation with the company what so ever. Will give a better review when I can test properly.

Here is a comparison with the Adventure Seat. ADV Seat is wider.

Here is a comparison with the original seat. The Saddlemen is heavier than the standard seat, but construction quality is very good.

A nice little addition to the seat as well. Perhaps the tape could have been run right through for added strength.

    George,

If you want to try one of these hit me up and make a short trip up to Truckee and you can try mine.

Thanks Brent. I am actually considering one for my Adventure, which I just picked up for an upcoming Alaska trip. How do you like yours? I know the fake suede is supposed to be comfy. But I am not liking the idea of it in the wet.

I am happy with the seat, but not ecstatic. It is comfortable, but not perfect, but it does make it much more reasonable to do really long days. Not a resoundingly positive review, but it is better for me than my stocker.

Any further feedback on the seat? So far it looks like its split decision time.

    One loves it.
    One hates it.
    Two say "eh...its ok."

    Hi

I got my new seat yesterday but it appears to be too narrow. It fits on top of the rear plastics and not over the side. I ordered the lower profile but now is too high because it doesn't fit underneath??

I am guessing that you don't have the seat pan tabs under the frame mounts. The seat has to really be flexed to get the tabs under the mounts and if you don't the seat sticks up 1/2" or so at the front of the side panels.
