Todos Santos intel-across the steet from the Hotel California is a restaurant/bar called Tequilla's Sunrise.Very good food and the best margaritas-some how the owner takes pride in hiding lots of booze while making it tasty.Around the corner-west and south-is a 1 star motel I have spotted some inmates bikes there.Cheap road food-at the Soriana supermarket in San Jose del Cabo( by the traffic circle) there is a food court with take out food. The chinese food vendor there is cheap and good.Fed me and the ole lady for $8.If you are riding down the east cape by Cabo Pulmo the dive/kayak shop on the beach has an open air restaurant that isnt bad and ok prices. At the walmart in cabo there are major banks with many atms.

Thinking of doing this trip April 2014.
Do you have any GPS tracks?

Was 5 days to Cabo enough? Or are you really pushing it?
I'll be trailering my bike from Vancouver Canada to SD, then doing the Baja ride.
Planning on a 3 week trip in total. 2 days to trailer to SD (1400 miles), 5 days to Cabo (1100 miles) , 7 days at an all inclusive to rest up, then the same back 5 plus 2 to get back home.

Hi, I did the ride with Steveo. 5 days is aggressive, yet possible depending on the road to dirt ratio. I would like to do it again. What do you plan to do in Cabo for 7 days?

Meeting up with wife and kid who will fly down for a 2 week stay. More than likely will look at renting a condo for the 2 weeks. We rented a 2 bedroom condo at Marina Sol in the spring of 2012. Was a pretty decent place 4 min walk to beach and 10 min to the Marina area of Cabo.

Buddy and I will stay for the 7 days to just relax, play :1drinkand recharge for the ride back up.

Might be able to add a day or two for the ride to Cabo and back because of the Easter Holiday I have an extra 2 days to add on to my vacation.

    Steve.

    hey stevodadevo -
thanks for posting that link, I've been wondering how your trip went!
I don't remember seeing this thread...

Lots of fun pics, looks like you had a great time!! :clap
8 flats! You beat El Bartek's record :lol3

    Hi twisted-hog,
I'm not sure what tracks stevodadevo ended up using, but I sent him some...
    (Stevo? *REGO*? :ear)

Us WanKers made it to La Paz in 4 days, mostly dirt. Would have been more dirt, but we had some drama.
Five days to Cabo is doable if you don't mind long days.

Our trip was 11 days total (1 rest day), about 2500 miles. Tecate to Tecate.

Ride report is here: Baja Wan-Thousand
We did some fun stuff :evil

Take a look - if you like what you see,
PM me your email address, I can send you our tracks.

I think you should add some miles to your estimate. We did 3074 miles in Baja on our trip. Here is a picture of the garmin when we crossed the boarder.

    12?! :huh

I saw that one photo for #8, guess the rest didn't get on film?
    anyway - wow. Very impressive!
Baja - once those flats start... :cry

    hi *REGO*,
I googled around for that map - I remember it was hard to find a good one.
Had to add some towns with photoshop.

Googling around this morning, I don't see that blank map anymore.
Tried a few different search terms with no luck. :(:
I thought it was on bajainsider.com, but couldn't find it.

I checked my stuff to see if I kept my download or even a hard copy.
    Nothing. Sorry. :nah
All I have is the Baja WanK one with the crayon.

Took my time going down on dirt last winter, but then booted it pack to Yuma from La Paz in 3 days, including a stop at Coco's and running out of gas once every day because of crazy headwinds.
Cabo in 5 days from SD is totally possible, although hectic and mainly paved.

We tried to stay on the dirt as much as we could, it was 75-80% dirt/rock/sand/washboards. :p3rry

    oh god. That's horrible news.

I never met Dana (Stevodadevo) in person, only shared emails and PMs about Baja and GPS tracks,
but you can't help but feel like you know someone a little bit after enjoying their vacation photos.
I recently looked at Dana's flickr album again (from his post #64, link here).

Thank you for letting us know, Melodi.
My heart aches for his family and friends.

As the fellow rider of the San Diego to Cabo, I am greatly saddened and shocked to hear Dana is gone. He is a great rider and friend. We had each others backs so many times during the journey, he became instantly family. It is no surprise to hear he was out front. He enjoys a fast, hard ride. I refer to him as in the present, in my mind, I will always envision him on the bike, riding Baja.
