For those of you Colorado inmates who may not know it, Tom Tancredo is a motorcyclist. He's also running for the GOP nomination for Governor. Talk-radio institution Peter Boyles and Tancredo will be going for a ride on Saturday the 14th, as a campaign fund-raiser. For those interested:

I fully intend to be there...... I've met and spoken with both Tancredo and Boyles several times, and kinda like both of these guys. Political opinions will always vary, but it might just be a hoot to have a fellow motorcyclist in the Gov's office.

What's the route? Any dirt involved? I'd love to have a dirt-riding Gov more than a beer-drinking one. A mutually-inclusive one is ideal, but I'll vote accordingly :deal You getting that 175 up & running or what, Duckie?

This ride is all pavement, from SE Denver to the Stagecoach in Franktown. Dunno any more specifics, that's why I posted the link. I'm not organizing, just passing news along.

If ANYONE can goad Tancredo onto a KLR for a dirt ride, it's our own Wuds! :clap It's worth a shot...... for a politician, Tancredo's usually up for a challenge. :lol3

No, Tommy T. (a Conservative - yeah right) would try to steal any cash out of your pocket to fund a "bailout" for the to big to fail crowd, while Petey B. would be grabbing for your neck.

In before the punt to CSM!

I'd go just so he could see my bike, pull his ear, and let him know some of us ride more than 16 miles. Poo it all you want, I think it's a good opportunity to let any Pol know we exist, we vote, and will do so to keep our riding areas. Dem or Rep, Lib or Constitution party, IDGAF. Let them know we care.

Thanks, Wuds! This is more the reason that I'm going, than anything else. We supposedly live under a 'representative' form of government, and yet I feel that those 'representatives' making decisions for us are sadly uninformed - and intentionally misinformed. If not told directly what's on your mind, they will believe what they are being told about you by others.

I've had several respectful, yet adversary relationships with professional politicians over the years. I showed up at 'town hall' meetings to make them explain their votes publically, and was invited to meetings in their offices to get my opinion on pending legislation. I firmly believe that all of us were better off for those experiences..... an investment in time, but win/win in the end.

And please, no punt to CS&M. This is a local thing, and thus far all posts have been respectful in nature. There's no problem with varied opinion, and I'm hardly gonna preach political ethics here.... this ain't THAT place.

Yer free to ask about that yerself, friend. I'm not so sure that's a good idea here in Colorado. California cage-drivers are accustomed to the idea of sharing lanes, over decades of use by motorcyclists, and the California Highway Patrol officers lobbying against any efforts by politicians to illegalize it. It's not customary here, and despite best efforts to publicize it as legal if passed, you'd be placing yer life in dangerous hands by lanesplitting here.

A good question came up online, from a skeptic/critic. Would Mr. Tancredo be willing to speak with folks at Dora's or the Stagecoach, who have no intention of either donating, or riding along? Just ask'n.

There will be lots of events coming up for people to ask Tom questions. The ride is to have a good time and support Tom. Tom is always happy to take questions from voters, but this event was not designed as a forum. Please encourage your friends to come to something that is set up more appropriately to take their questions.

Here's a thought: Get a few of ADV's Colorado inmates together, and invite Tancredo to answer questions on issues that matter to us all, be it dirt riding, pavement or dual-sport? You should KNOW where he stands as potential Governor - and he could most likely use an education. He can't help, if he's uninformed, eh?

If local inmates decide to call for a meeting, I'll make sure he gets the invitation. Deal?
