Clue: This church is named after a biblical river and the road it is on as well as the town have the same name. You will find it within sight of a large body of water. :evil Have fun looking for this one and stay safe.

How have you been? Suffering World Cup withdrawal or did you get a new fix with cycling?

cycling is no replacement for the World Cup even if it is le Tour de France. I'm good. I just miss life before 4 TOR in SC. I wouldn't call it tag strike but the desire to go tagging is hard to find. I've been doing some nice rides down here and planning a 2000 mile round trip to Missouri with some camping involved. Hope all is well for you Ryan, congrats on your 3fer, you too Laura. BTW, luv the salute pic Laura.

Sorry to hijack but no one else is using the thread.

    Because I was bored, grab.

    Jordan River Church
    Jordan River Church Road,
    Manning, SC

After a fun and long afternoon of riding, I got some nice shots to take home:

After riding over a bridge, I saw a little dirt road off to the side, so rode this:

    to get to these:

Stopped to water the trees a little while later just outside the Cross Power Station (which wouldn't let me get close enough to take a good picture, stupid gate guard), when a train tried confronting the mighty Bandito. The train backed down, of course.

I've passed this place dozens of times, but never stopped to take a look until today:

And then I had a few scary miles of running low on gas as small towns are not big fans of credit cards, but I did get to see Lake Moultrie:

On the way home, I passed over a river, and saw a cool looking gravel road on its banks for miles, so tried to find it by riding down some nearby gravel roads, but gave up about 4 miles off the main road when I realized I had no cell signal, or any idea of how to tell someone where I was if I needed to. But back a short ways before the road became more weeds than gravel, I rode under this neat looking old railroad bridge:

that had a cool graffitied Earth:

This just seems like an interesting combination business idea:

I took the fun route to the church, so got to ride through ~1 1/2 miles of sand, which was a little scary after a 35 mph tank-slapper that I managed to save.

Also, a note to self: when you stop at a rural cafe run by old black folks, you walk in and they ask what you want, you say "Well I'm a big guy that's starving," and the lady responds, "You're not big. You're just healthy size. You look like a cheeseburger combo is the ticket for you. That'll fill you up," they aren't lying, and you will be happy, but very full, especially when you're done eating and just sitting there enjoying the A/C and she tries offering you free leftover macaroni and cheese and potato salad, that you sadly have to turn down.

And Caycek, since I hadn't said it before, thank you for the Biker Week Award. I haven't been posting much on ADV and hadn't spoken to you since dinner with your wife, her friends, and Kalonji:

You're welcome the tacky bottle opener actually worked quite well. I was surprised it did. What is the other object in the photo? I thought I sent you a little key multi-tool, did I not put it in the package?

The weird oval thing is just another refrigerator magnet. The utili-key thing stays on my keychain, and works well the few times I've needed it and is very convenient for its size. Since I don't drink beer, the seahorse has only been used a few times when I've had friends over, but they did appreciate the novelty. So thanks again.

    :clap :clap Draechon,

Thanks for rescuing my tag from eternal damnation. I was beginning to think that no one would ever go and get it. I hope your new tag does not suffer the same fate.

The well armed building behind this spot is located on highway (least random number) near the third oldest city in the state.
