The XRL has fresh oil and is ready for next weekend. From details on the per and post lunch rides I don't think I will be testing my new bash plate but. You never can tell.
I saw something that there may be another KLR in the group. I think it is showroom fresh and I bet it is real purdy.

Happy New Year, you S.C.A.R.Y. bunch (South Carolina Adventure Riders, Y'all)! :freaky

My spouse is going to help me start wrenching on Barney tonight, since about 80% of what I ordered has come in. Seems like somewhere I mentioned I was only going to do about 3 things to the bike, heh heh. I had to start a spreadsheet to keep up with what I ordered. Not going overboard, but just trying to make it good and dirt worthy and do a good bit of maintenance since I don't know its history. The pumper carb and aftermarket seat will have to wait for now.

If anyone is on the road tonight, please be careful.

Took the xr out for a shakedown today I have been running it around town flushing out 10% gas. Runs much better now. Did about 6 miles of dirt road and the only thing not working correctly is me. Didn't need the bashguard but had an unfortunate encounter with a dog, dog lost I didn't even go down, just a bif bump. The owner was riding his horse right there and saw everything. I stopped right away. He apologized about the dog while I was apologizing about hitting the mand dog. But it was me or him, I think if a cruser hit the dog it would have gone down mostly b/c my front end is so soft it just went right over it.
Anyway everyone be careful out there.

happy to hear your ok- sucks for the dog --- to bad it couldn't have had a more responsible owner...:(:

unless it was a very small dog it seems amazing to me that you didn't go down - of course I don't think you mentioned how fast you were going ?

by the way- I've been meaning to get out a tape and measure how big those boxes are but I keep forgetting and I'm at my brothers house and bike-less right now...

looking forward to the 8th and disappointed we couldn't do it tomorrow, too

I'll have to just go scratch that itch a little tomorrow....:D

I had slowed down to about 20 and was off the throttle because I saw the horse, planning on coasting by. I have ridden by this guy many times before. He was hard on himself about the dog he realized it was his mistake. I have very little pressure in the front end so it soaks up bumps .

Pee Dee Kg Mr and myself are making an early run to fayet- nam in the am. Meeting at Kg's house at 0738.

That Tiger sure is purdy. But when I sell the Sprint I'd like the new 800 version or 800xc Tiger to replace it. That triple engine in a mid-weight adventure bike is gotta be great.

Crazy ass early morning people! :D (Actually, I wasn't crying, I had other obligations this morning.) I ended up riding the vulcan with a cruiser rider friend of mine. He had enough as soon as a few clouds came over. :huh

I am up for a mountain ride for sure. (Maybe April-ish.) Can you take that VFR up fire roads and through 2' water crossings?

Kg could take his KTM through fire roads and water crossings. It is the white bike in my avatar.

It may be headed to craigslist soon? I'll take a hit on it and maybe get something else. Not 100% sure though.
