Careful. Watch out for that dirt road stuff. Once you have crossed over to the dark side, it is hard to turn back.
I went from a VTR1000 to a dual sport with no regrets. The Superhawk was going to kill me or have me in jail if I didn't tone it down. :gerg

Okay: Not really sure how the rules are gonna apply. You said you had 24 hrs to post new tag( or did I misunderstand. ) Sorry I didn't submit the new tag as soon as I found the one in Chesnee. I had some things to do and didn't get to it till this afternoon. I apologize ..I know it was a beautuful day for riding.

I think it will get confusing if you have multiple tags going on , right.

So if I have been "leap-frogged" , then so be it.
Since I went to the trouble to go take the picture , I'll put it up.

    Clues:
    Spartanburg County
You may have seen this if you are a "paddler".
Its not something you eat with a fork, but it is near one.
Iron ore in the banks made this a place for tools to be forged in Spartanburg's beginning years

    Good Luck

Nice tag, Mudslinger. Unique destination AND good clues. Let the Googling begin!

p.s. I think you've done everything just right.

No way! I'm still too much of a squid to graduate to thumpers or Gold Wings right now. I do want a nice hack though, so if a BMW 1200GS were to come available with hard bags and a sidecar...

Oh no, you are perfectly right in your reading, you had 24 hours to post up a new tag. I would have liked the new one up sooner, since I was killing time waiting for a tag to be placed, and I knew I'd get very little riding in this weekend due to work. I'm a wedding photographer, so I work Friday nights and Saturdays, and have my weekdays free usually, unless I'm meeting with a client or taking a class. Late night is when I work on the pictures in photoshop.

But I did take a little time today to get some file photos so you all can have some fun chasing them when and if I do get the tag again.

Oh and I waved at a ST1300 today that turned out to be a cop, and he waved back, :rofl. He was apparently coming from this wreck: http://www.greenvilleonline.com/article/20090129/NEWS06/90129017/1004/NEWS01 , some squid tried to run from him with his GF on the back. DUH. Doing a quick run away from a Crown Vic I can see, but trying to outrun another motorcycle? How stupid is that? :eek1

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm in the right area but haven't been able to locate that thingy in the pic. :dunno

'Course some of it could be that all the images on GE of that area have leaves on the trees. :lol3

It would be a downright shame if somebody had to get some actual saddle time to figure this out! :rofl

You mean to tell me that there's not even a google street view of this that you could post a screen shot of?

Man what's the world coming to anyway? :rofl

Okay, I'll take the bait for this one, after all, I spent a lot of time riding around late yesterday and part of today to find it.

Boy, that was a long cold ride to get my first Bruce. Good job, hojo!

I'll add this little bit of info:

Glendale Shoals on Lawson's Fork Creek is just a few minutes from bustling downtown Spartanburg, but it feels worlds away from the city. Glendale is a sleepy mill community with a long history in upstate South Carolina. Some of the upstate's first industrial development occurred along and were powered by the shoals of Lawson's Fork (including a foundry during the American Revolution).

So how far is it from the dam at the old Glendale Mills site? Can you show us on GE? Just curious if it was where I was thinking. I know the old road crossed just above the dam (and I don't think it is used any more) and the new road (Clifton/Glendale road crosses just above that. Did you get anymore pics of the area. I was planning to ride down there in the morning and do some lookin' aroiund as I thought I had a pretty good idea where it was.

The sculpture is just upstream of the dam, between the two bridges. I was in too big a hurry (and too cold) to take any more photos. Maybe hojo did.
