Grissom is still around but with a significantly reduced military mission. It's pretty much an industrial park now with a big focus on aircraft industry. The Guard still flies some at the base though.

Hey!! Do me a favor in your wanderings.......find the place below and get some pictures. The house on the south corner is the one I lived in before we moved to West T. Havent been there in years. The whole area is fun to explore. There might still be a Christmas tree farm right there by the house, running the trails to that place is where I learned to ride a dirt bike. We use to get lost in those woods for hours and hours. If you run south down Cowden road and turn left on West Tabor Road it will eventual wind its way down towards a creek bottom and get you to north of Bloomington on old US 37. We use to camp and fish all night down in the bottoms on the creek bank. There use to be a couple of old covered bridges along the route also. I know you run around Bean Blossom, so if you know the square pond just north of Bloomington on old 37, well thats about where you come out at............if my feeble old mind is correct. It has been many years since I have been out that way.

    Thanks my wandering Friend!!!

Installed some new LED lights on the V-Strom over the weekend. It will never be as bright as Geode's bike, but it makes the bike stand out a bit more. I have not ridden it beyond dusk, so can't really speak to how useful they are from a rider's perspective yet but I think it's probably good. I've straightened the bracket placement out a bit since this picture.

I did actually ride the thing a bit..

It's been more than a year.

Lots of stuff happening with job and family.

Lots of things have kept me off the bike.

    But maybe that's changing.

Thanks! It's quite a bit of fun, coming off of a KLR and Wee-Strom. I just need to remember to turn off the ABS before I'm moving on gravel. :eek1:lol3

I'm not getting out nearly as much as I'd like, but I am getting out.

LED lights and lower crash bars installed. I think I'm ready.

Fields are pretty wet down in the bottoms, but they're still getting most of the corn out. East-central Illinois, just East of West Union on the River Road.

Beautiful weekend for the bike, and I took slight advantage of it.

Rode to Paris, Illinois, to visit with my father-in-law who has been up and down now for several months. We're hoping to get him back home once he's strong enough. We're told that the place he's in right now is a nice one, but it seems awfully depressing to me.

I had a little bit of time to waste before I needed to be in town to setup for Saturday's gig.

Street tires, recent rain, soft soil and wet leaves tried their best, but I didn't drop it.

Here's our setup, playing after The Highland Reunion and opening for The Kopecky Family Band..

I had hoped to get a ride in Sunday, but didn't. Instead we walked the goat and enjoyed some Blue Line gin..
