Initially, the plan was to do Lake Hughes once again. I realized that's a whole day ride, just like last Saturday. Great ride but I will be sore afterwards.

Now, we're thinking of doing SCD this coming Saturday and continue to Lynx Gulch. Hopefully the snow and ice will not be as intimidating.

Others who want to join us, just show up at Ranch Side Mexican Restaurant (next to 7-11) near the Osborne off-ramp. As usual the ride up on Little T will be fun, if you like the twisties. We'll decide where to go for lunch.

    We leave at 8:00 AM.

Snow should not be an issue. I think I'm going to go Sat. I plan on doing SCD go about 3/4 of the way then head down the back side and play around on some of the fun tracks back thier. Then I'll hit Lynx's and stop and get Pie at Hidden Valley by 10:30 - 11:00.

This is a fun route lots of fun dirt not just flat fire roads. Should be a nice day for riding

    See ya all tomorrow morning.

We need to plan a Johnson Valley ride. I bought a set of Gary Semic's DVD, eight of them. Once I get them in my head, then it's time to put them into actions. A wide open space is all I need.

I remember Sito's tracks before entering a corner, this was on Semic's video.

Made it home with a happy grin on my face. That was another very good ride, that's 2 weekends in a row. No snow, no ice, do dust, a little chilly on the way up, got warm, then cold on the way down.

:clap Thanks to Sito for leading us to a trail, brand new to me. It's more challenging than SCD; it was awesome, but a lot of work needed. I was so tired that I let my bike take a nap 3x from standing still.

Lunch at Don Cuco's at Acton was very good. Thanks to Artboy for picking the place. :beer

The ride home on Little T is always satisfying, lots of tight twisties. Gee, Artboy rode the 400S like a Hayabusa. Doing 50 on my XR400 on the curves still not fast enough to catch up.

Now I realize I need to get in shape. Doing 150 miles today and half of that is dirt, just beat me up. Legs and arms are sore again.

The usual view from the the top of SCD; I don't see any smog.

If you have rode with us in the past, this hill is known as Sito's hill. Do you see the 950 (tiny speck) on the way down.

Maybe the next one is easier for your old and tired eyes.

Above the cloud level. The ninefiddy is nice if only I can ride it.

My XR400, this thing can take a lot of punishment

    Artboy's 400S, very impressive bike.

There were quite a number of trails to be be explored, we're saving them for next time.

No snow, eh? Obviously you went the wrong way. :evil (This is near SCD on the top of 4N24 and there were quite a lot of sections like this.) But looks like you guys still had a good ride. :thumb

There was also a fair amount east of the top of Mt Gleason (west of the bad boy camp) on SCD. We turned around here and went back to 4N24 and then down. Moody Canyon had some snow near the top, but nothing that didn't have easy ways through or around. And the "BPL" road (4N32) from North Fork Station to Aliso Canyon Road was completely clear, except for some LARGE puddles, but I'm guessing you went that way. The snow that is still around is all melting fast. Oh, and Lynx is totally clear too, just so folks know.

Yep, I know that was a great ride because I'm totally beat! Good trailblazin', Louis, and thanks for the pics Joel. I missed 2 of the "naps", so they're not part of your permanent record! :evil Now it's time for Chinese food and Advil, then bed.

Right after the ranger station, we turned left and ended up on Aliso, then searched and found a different trail that took us back up. We would have gone to Lynx, but we lunch was all in our mind.

Glad you guys also had a good ride.

Looks like I missed another great ride. :cry :huh

I was in the Alabama Hill outside Lone Pine. No bike though. I should be able to come out and ride with you guys more now. Just got through lots of training and should have more time now.

I think I remember "Sito's Hill". Was that the really soft one I followed him down on the last SCD ride I was on?

Joel...your XR looks nice! Good score!

Oni, look closely, Sito's bike was facing up, he ended turning around after seeing the ground was loose. :lol3

That XR is just amazing, it has so much grunt even on 3rd gear. Sometimes I get lazy to downshift and it won't stall.

Nowwhat, glad to hear you put fresh dirt on your bike. Yes, we just have to wait, but I would give Sawmill another 3 weeks before I head out there again or after the Death Valley Noobs Redux Ride. We can also contact Jay from the Castaic Dual Sports and get the latest condition. That's his backyard.

Next week, I want to do the trail that Sito lead us to. Little T, to SCD, go down to Moody, then up on 4N24, back to SCD then return to Little T.

Anyone has done the Indian Canyon Trail?

Joel, it's the first left you get to after the dirt starts on SCD. It dumps out at a staging area on Soledad Canyon.

On our way home, we were in Soledad and I saw on the left side the entrance to the Indian Trail. It look pretty steep! :cry

Sito btw made it home safely.
