You want to see my riding buddy's Transalp? It is a cool machine for sure. Here, I will show you another picture. It is my friend Dale and his Transalp on the same trip that my Helix picture was taken from.

He still owns and rides the bike by the way. He also owns and rides a 1989 Honda Pacific Coast.

They do have something in common. Both are old Honda's that have developed a cult following. IMO they are both classics.

I also have a V-Strom 650 fully kitted. I actually prefer riding a scooter because of the step-through because I have Rheumatoid Arthritis. I know, sucks to be me but I am still riding (52 years). I enjoy it as much today as I did at 11 when my uncle let me ride his Vespa. It is part of who I am. I have owned a bunch of scooters over the years. Seems as if I have more fun on them than I do on my motorcycles. I still have a old 1980 Honda Express NC50 that I put a 70cc jug on out in my shop. Get it out on occasion and ride it around the neighborhood. Don't take it further as it gets kind of scary at 40mph on the main roads. That speed is way beyond what it was designed to do and the frame flex is amazing. The brakes aren't too good either, drum brakes all around and Honda cut a lot of corners making that bike as cheap as they could but I do love that bike too. Makes me grin when riding it.

Having seen your trip in symforum, have to say what a wonderful country with those beaches and so few people: all the road and the beach for a single person; that´s paradise.

Mike, how are ya? What are ya having done to the motor? They did the Ecu on my scoot.

I'll be over on the Rock August 26th, on our way through to Labrador. On the Vstrom not the SR50.

Heya! I sent the motor in for the full meal deal polish/porting etc etc to get the highest gain he's doing these days. It's been a long wait to get the damned thing back.

As for Lab, they're paving it at an ungodly rate! Damn! you're not hitting the east coast are you?

Here's my favorite of my scoot. From an over night camp trip just a few hours from home.

My New to Us Kymco Agility 125. My poor dog has been scooterless since last Dec when I almost moved to Kansas and sold all my scooters for moving cash. Today was like christmas when the dog ran outside and saw the scooter. He was on it waiting for me when I came out. Its not as fast as my old Ruckus, but it sure does handle better.

That's a lot of "moveable ballast" :evil - is he strapped to the scooter somehow?

The cat goes with us on the boat, in the RV, in the truck... I don't think she'd be amused if I took her on the scooter. :rofl

I use to strap him. But I find its better if he falls and rolls then Fall and drag. Out of all the scooters I have owned he as fall off twice at very slow speeds and jumped off once. The time he jumped he was leashed and I crashed hard. So no more leashes. He has never been hurt. I got stitches. We always keep it down below 25.
