This is great! Found this thread in a search for a good and cheap battery for my Sertao. Just ordered from batterystuff and can't wait to drop it in. The first time I pulled the seat and saw that awful lead-acid battery I almost screamed
    Thanks guys!:clap

Yeah, the wife just picked up an 05 F650GS, and my reaction on seeing the stock battery was, uggh, this has got to go.

Any further experience with the Scorpion battery? Sounds like a cheap and easy way to go.

I read the info on the f650.com website on alternate batteries and it made it sound like relatively complicated mods were needed to use most maintance free batteries, like the YTX14-BS, which I'd like to use a Yuasa, but zmotomann makes it sound easy.

We just installed a Yuasa sealed YTX14AHL-BS in the wife's 05 F650GS. The only modification was we removed the thin rubber bumper on the back side of the box. At first it looked like some further modifications would be needed, but upon wiggling it around and trying to put it in from different angles it suddenly went right in. No problem.

Dropped a Motobatt MB12U into my '07 F650GS when the Yuasa died. Fit was perfect. First AGM battery I have had in any vehicle and am very happy.

just put one of these in my f650cs. seems like it gets good reviews.

and hopefully it won't get eaten in such a short time frame...

Motobatt AGM sealed batteries have dual positive and negative terminals so you don't have an issue with the terminals being in the wrong place
