Is there a reason why when I use the advanced search function and tell it to limit the search to title only it ignores that request?

Use google to search this site, as per the posted sticky above, it's better and quicker. I've not had any issues with title searches, on the rare occasion that I use it, but prefer to use google for title searches.

Thanks....hard to search just the title with Google, though.

I just tried the title search again (searched on "speedo" in thumpers) and it brought me the same results as an open search on the same keyword.

    Oh well....thanks for listening!

Realize this is a very old thread, but seems the most appropriate one for a recent discovery.

Google search has many keywords one can use to make searching easier. I don't have the comprehensive list or anything, but one keyword could have helped the OP here and helps me a lot too.

    ALLINTITLE

Caps aren't needed. Using that only searches the titles of threads, not the thread body. And you can enter multiple words.

If one was to not use the above keyword then your search would look like this:

    "google search" site:advrider.com

and the result of that would be almost 28 thousand hits. No wonder people give up searching and just ask the same question over and over right?

But if you use the 'allintitle' keyword like this:

    allintitle:"google search" site:advrider.com

now there are only 2 results. Pretty kewl eh?

Just wish everyone that starts a thread would be descriptive a bit with the title... instead of something like "HELP!!"

    Cheers
