    Getting to "the point"...
    From Denver Water's website;

    At its April 25, 2012, Board meeting, Denver Water declared a Stage 1 drought in recognition of current watershed conditions: very low streamflow, and predictions of more dry weather. A Stage 1 drought calls for customers to voluntarily reduce their water use. However, Denver Water’s summer watering rules are always in effect from May 1 to Oct. 1.

    And more;

    Denver Water is enforcing its annual watering rules (May 1 to Oct. 1), so please use water wisely.

    Water during cooler times of the day — lawn watering is NOT allowed between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
    Water no more than three days per week.
    Do not allow water to pool in gutters, streets and alleys.
    Do not waste water by letting it spray on concrete and asphalt.
    Repair leaking sprinkler systems within 10 days.
    Do not irrigate while it is raining or during high winds.
    Use a hose nozzle with a shut-off valve when washing your car.
    *Please note, there are some exceptions to watering rules and how the rules apply to gardening.

    All of it is good advice even when we aren't facing drought conditions.

    Just ordered $300 worth of replacement sprinkler nozzles to convert from spray heads to rotor nozzles, and $350 worth of drip irrigation supplies to water our 1600 s.f. of garden with. Gonna be a busy spring fighting my arch nemesis of a sprinkler system. :baldy

    Hope to end up with it all automated to water automatically so I can ride more, weed less!!!

    Cheers! :freaky

    Good call Dave. It is DRY.

    Indy will open 2.5 weeks early and COULD have been two weeks sooner but crews were taking the opportunity to do road patching and guardrail. That is a Month early.

    Kebler will be a full month early from last year to the day.

    Gonna be a "brown" summer:cry:cry:cry

    you guys shouldn't be in the woods when it's dry. the forest may spontaneously combust. No shooting either.

    I hope this doesn't mean we get 3 feet of snow on September 3rd.. it'd be nice to have a long season up high after last winters epic snow.

    FWIW.. we were up in Crested Butte last weekend (or was it the weekend before?) and the mountains north west (Schofield'sih) were still giant marshmallows. Pearl Pass road was also still closed all the way down at the end of town.

    I am hoping that Parker water puts a water ban in effect but doubt it considering the majority of our water comes from local wells. Best day of my life if I don't have to water my worthless front lawn that is on a 10 percent grade.

    I wonder if the citizens can ticket the city? I was riding to work today on the KLR and in Lafayette, they had the sprinklers going in a park during a downpour.

    There are two Cottonwoods. One over by Glenwood Cyn, the other west of Buena Vista.

    Do you know which one is open? Both?

    Thanks,

    Rod's referring to the one between BV and Taylor. It's half paved, not a jeep road like the others.
