I guess it's because companies know everybody's got their different opinion and preference when it comes to comfort so it's simply best to produce a generic "one-for-all" seat and let the customers deal with custom/aftermarket seat of their choosing.

I see you have "High" and "Low" seats for the 9xx Adventure...any chance of a "Regular" height seat?

I would say that they are NOT 100% waterproof. There MAY be slight seepage threw the seams.
But I do not consider it a problem, we have not has any complaints about water intrusion.
If it would make you feel better, you can always put a thin layer of visquin between the foam and cover.
Some of the stock seats come that way.

Well the LOW version started out as a stock seat. ( one with a step already in it) We just made the seating area flatter by tilting the rear of the seating area down.
It is technically shorter that a stock seat but not by much.
If you are refering to the stock seat that has no step in it, no we do not have one that is that height. But if you were to flaten the seating area, it would end up much like our low seat.
If you strive for something in between, the high seat could be custom shaped into something like you want.

Alright, I'm going for it - I ordered a low seat. I've had one of your high seats, and while it was supremely comfortable it was just too dang tall for my little self, but I really did like the seating position on the bike. Hopefully the "Low" isn't too low.
    Thanks for the follow-up!

    Hiya Lendon,

Sorry to ask in this thread, but I haven't heard form you since your last PM in my direction on may 9th.
I replied immediately to your questions, and have Pm'd you twice since.
I also tried to contact you via the Seatconcepts mail adress.

I reckon this is the busiest time of year for you guys, and I wouldn't need to ask for info + statusupdate regarding my promised seat via this thread...but it's may 28th now and I'm due for another roadtrip and my butt is just begging for that seat :D

Mind telling me if (hopefully) the seat is ready, packed and /or already send my way ?:clap
Can't wait to get my hands on that fine piece of craftmanship !

    Cheers,

    Fellow ADV'ers,

The other week I called Seat Concepts to ask some questions about a seat for my BMW F650GS. The original seat isn't all that comfortable (as many know) and it tilts towards the tank. Ouch!

Seat Concepts suggested I go with the Dakar version, as it would add a bit of height to the saddle, and should keep my knees slightly less bent than the original. Well, in no time the seat package arrived. I just got done mounting the new cover and foam to the old seat pan this morning and went for a ride. WOW no more numb bum, and the height is PERFECT! I can still just barely flat foot the bike in riding boots and the comfort is truly amazing. The install was pretty easy. There's a few wrinkles up by the nose of the saddle, but I think those will fad away soon. If not, it's my faulty installation, not the fault of the Seat Concepts products.

I can't recommend these guys enough. Friendly and helpful on the phone, VERY fast delivery, and easy install (my first time to install new foam/cover).

    Cheers,

    Bill

I see on your web site that you have a seat for the LC4 adventure,,I have a non-adventure LC4 640 with the 18 litre fuel tank and the seat has the little 'wings' at the front end, which the adventure seat does not have.

Do you know if the adv cover/foam will work on my seat ?

I just tried out my new Seat Concepts "high" seat on my DRZ and it's great! Much (!!!) better than stock and the Corbin that it replaced.

My satisfaction is now complete. I presently have their seat on my 530, 690 and KTM500. I also had one on my WR450 that my brother now owns. The only seat I was not totally happy with was the one for the 690 as it bothered my knees when standing. Bundy for a reasonable charge modified that seat to my liking.

I have struggled with seats every since I started dual sport riding as my primary activity vs my former life as a single track only guy. I have had seats made by Guts, Corbin, KTM tall, soft, etc from EE, Renazco and certainly others, but the only seat I have really bonded with for my style of riding are the Seat Concepts models.

    Keep up the good work!!

Just a FYI heads-up... My local Harbor Freight didn't have the 20 gauge stapler on the shelves. Asked a clerk and she said they pulled them due to "faulty gauging". Told her I know and they work fine with T-50 staples and she pulled one out of the back room. $19.95 and 20% off coupon = $17.something. Ask if you don't see them stocked.
