AKDuc is right, I'll be riding through Tok the morning of the 16th. I haven't checked recently, but a wildfire had been burning north or northeast of Tok. It's probably contained by now.

Haha, well, I actually do have a job, but it's only 10 days at a time and with big chunks of time between. I'm a GoalZero rep, and plan my job locations ahead of time.
    I hope so too.
leaving Saturday by ferry from Port Angeles to Victoria island, and later on (not sure when) from Nanaimo to mainland BC.
I'm planning on taking the less traveled roads, going over Hwy 99 to 97 to 16 to 37. Hyder's Bear glacier is on my list of things, so is Haines.

Hey Nancy, I keep looking at your schedule, and the only days that it seems conceivable that I might be in the same area is when you are back in Haines. As I am not taking any ferries other than the one to Victoria island and to BC it makes it a little harder to gauge where I will be at what time. Still, I'll keep checking on your trip reports. Have a great time! So far it seems like you are. Ride safe! :ricky

I rode from Destruction Bay to Fairbanks yesterday. Mixed rain sprinkles and sun through Tok and Delta Junction. No fires to be seen, think the rain cleared out most of that problem.

We will be leaving Fairbanks for Chicken on Wed. the 19th and then into Dawson on the 20th. We are in a hacked BMW.

It was a tad chilly in the mountains on the Richardson last weekend... Paxson lake still had ice, Summit Lake still frozen as of last weekend. No gas in Paxson either, but the lodge is open

    Made it to Skagway

Then rode to Whitehorse with Roger, Bob, Dave and Mike. These boys are into bikes and cars in a serious way so we exchanged stories about restorations.

Then met up with Brian and Keith at Haines Junction and they helped me fix my rear flat. Real stand up guys.

Then Met Kim and Mike (with a lovely Texas accent) who happened to ride a Tiger and had the rear tube I needed.

Missed you going through Whitehorse, looks like your trip is going good. Enjoy the northern scenery, and long hours of daylight.

Your thread caught my attention as I recently did part of your trip on another orange tiger:

Anyways, I live in Seward, and if you're still planning to visit Seward, let me know, or shoot me a PM. I'm a biologist with UAF and my office is in the SeaLife Center if you'd like a tour. I'll be here until late Wednesday morning, then I'm hoping to head to D2D.

If anyone is coming through Anchorage tomorrow, let Brendon at The Motorcycle Shop know. Has a part coming in tomorrow for a down Tiger in Dawson. I'm headed out early tomorrow and running straight through.

    Hey Nancy,
Sounds like your trip all came together pretty well. You meet the nicest folks on motorcycles no matter where you are. Sometimes just winging it is the way to go. Sorry I missed meeting you in Northern California but maybe we will cross paths another time on the road. Good luck on your journey south towards home. Paul
