Looking for info on these for mx helmets.
The SMH10B have the micro-USB connector
the original units SMH10 (non-B) had a round co-axial charger cord,
so I think you are good to go!
Like what sort of info?
If you don't like 'em, we'll take 'em back. There's no magic here... If earplugs block most all of the sound, then, that includes audio from the headset. I have molded ear-plugs with filters that block noise, but pass speech and music. Perhaps that's an option?
I don't ride with earplugs but one of my friends do. He just started using earplugs that pass speech and said the difference is outstanding. Any sound device is going to be hindered if a barrier is inserted between your ear canal and the source. Only way around that is let the frequency pass or up the amplitude and drive through...
I'm just back from a 2,500 mile trip with three buds, the SMH10 worked great. Even at a reasonably long distance we could always keep in touch with the last guy. Only downside was one guy, two of us could not call him at times but he could always call us yet we could always call each other. When we wanted to include him in our conversation we would hold up one or two fingers to signify whom to call.
I must also give a shoutout to RocketMoto, great price and support!
I just popped in to say that I received my SMH10s yesterday. I noticed that they shipped the same day that I placed the order, and I placed it at 3:30PM.
They were very easy to install and setup, pair, etc. Now to get a new bike battery so I can try them out on the road...
My wife and I have had our SMH 10 for about a year now, very happy with the quality. When mgt and I ride 2 up we talk and talk for hours on end which for me is enjoyable. would defintely buy again.
Thanks! We do our best to get orders out, pronto!
I bought a set of SMH5s from you guys several months ago and my wife and I have really enjoyed them. The only problem I'm having is I can't hear the ring tone of an incoming call while riding down the road most of the time. With the ringer turned up all the way on my cell phone its still too quiet. Do you think the upgrade speakers would resolve this issue?
If so, I need to order an accessory kit for another helmet. In looking on the Sena website, it looks like the kit #smh5-a0312 has the wired Mic and the upgraded speakers. I did not see that on your site. Is that correct and do you stock that item?
Great product /vendor /deal, will use again.
What sort of helmet do you have and which bike and fairing windscreen, if any?
First thing we should check is the placement of the speakers in the helmet. See our video for details on how to line them up properly: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KU5HL_oZT6I.
1/4" off the center of your ear canal and you'll lose at least half of the volume. Once you are positive that the speakers are installed just so, we can explore alternative speakers. The larger SMH5 speakers, which are the same as the 'standard' SMH10 speakers may provide a bit of additional volume, but I don't think that is going to make a notable difference, really.
So, give that a try first and let me know how it goes.

When I first started using the headsets I was riding a Honda Shadow Ace Tourer with the factory windshield and exhaust. A fairly quiet bike. I wear an HJC IS-33 3/4 helmet. No problem with hearing music or the intercom conversation, but the ring tone "chime" was hit or miss. Often times I would be listening to music, it would stop, and that was my indication that a call was incoming. No problems with the volume during a call, just the ring tone volume.
I have since started riding a 2012 Road King Police with the tall windshield and factory exhaust. The RK exhaust is definitely louder than the Tourer, but I can still hear the music and intercom just fine. But the little bit of added bike noise has pretty much made the ring tone AWOL. I wear earplugs when riding on the highway and then there's no hope for the ring tone. I am open to any suggestions. I will double check the speaker placement and see if there is any difference.
My wife and I have both lost the foam windscreens for the mics. Can I buy those separately?
Do you think we can organise a new group buy for the new sena 20S as soon as its out?
Because Im in!!!
If you purchased your headsets from us, I think we have some extras here. Give us a call and we'll send you a few.
Otherwise these are included in the SMH10 supplies kit.
We will do an ADV group buy for the 20S. Supposed to be available in the first quarter of 2014.
In for a set of 20s intercoms too!
Please post a link here if you start a new thread Adam. Cheers.
