So is it possible to choose unpaved roads somehow ? After searching here I didn't find anything so I contacted Locus.

    They replied
" It is possible, but it is not matter of the LocusMAp itself, as LocusMap uses 3rd party routing. The first option coming to my mind is to use the BRouter, with a custom profile preferring unpaved ( but not forbidden ) roads.- "

Well I don't see that option with BRouter .

Never going to happen. The designations of
    Unpaved
    Private
    Closed
    4*4
    Jeep trail
    Game trail

Get mislabeled am the time, and as a result will never be consistent enough to route specifically on. Add in the land owners that put gates on public roads.... It's a mess

Is there a bug in the latest version of Locus or the latest themes ? I updated to the latest version of Locus and the themes. Now nothing shows up in any of the states unless I click on the state vector map, then everything shows up. If I scroll from one state to another there is nothing showing up in the neighboring state, unless I go to the quick map select and tap on that state. Lets say between Calif. and Nevada. Now I have those two states showing up. If I go back to calif. and scroll around there for a bit and then back to Nevada nothing is there again unless I go back and tap on the Nevada vector map. In the past before I updated all the states showed up as I scrolled between the different states. Brouter seems to be working as I did a navigate between two places in Oregon and it did that just fine. Sigh !!!!!! :(

Settings -> Maps -> Offline maps -> check Map auto-load

That will make Locus automatically load adjacent maps when vector maps are used.

BTW Locus related questions should really be directed to the dedicated Locus thread here, not this rugged Android thread.

SRTie4k, It is set that way and always has been. This problem only cropped up with the latest version of Locus.

Hmm, not sure what to tell you. I don't have that problem and I am up to date. What theme are you using? And what vector maps?

Hi SRT, thanks for getting back to me. It happens with any and all of the themes and vector maps.

You might try changing the setting above that as well under "Personal Maps". Set Map auto-load to "Auto-load maps of identical type only".

Also, try to force close Locus (tap the overview button, i.e. the square, and swipe Locus off the screen) and reopen it. That might fix it.

Ok, I did those two things and it did not help. The adjoining state still does not appear. However I downloaded your theme and it works perfectly. So it would seem there is a problem with the updated themes, maybe ??
And in the future after this problem is solved I will post my Locus questions in the other thread and my cell phone questions here. I was only trying to not pollute two threads with all my noob questions. haha :D

Ok, I have been playing around with this and now the only two that wont go from state to state automatically is Elevate and Elements, the latest version. Maybe I just didn't see that the others were working right. ?? Anyway I deleted elevate and element from my phone and then went to there web site and redownloaded them. I still have the same problem with those two themes. Grrrrrrrr.... Is there any way to download the older versions as there was no problems with them. ??
I have Locus and those themes installed on my Asus zen phone and on my Nomu S10 and they both do the same thing . So I really do not think it is the phone. Also is there a way to revert to the older version of locus.....I should have left well enough alone ! everything was working just fine.

Can't find an other theme you like? Most likely someone will come along and fix one or both soon enough - or you could have a go yourself.

FWIW, it's extremely easy to break something in the themes. Unfortunately Locus does not do a very good job ignoring incorrect syntax in the theme file, and will get hung up on something as simple as a single mistyped color. If you ever see segments of maps that constantly say "Loading", it's most likely because something has been mistyped in the active theme.

    Yo Cyclepath,
I have been fighting with all the Themes with my new to me DuraForce Pro. What it turned out to be was bad vector maps.
The theme issue goes away when I loaded fresh maps from OpenAndroMaps.
Attempting to save setup time I transfered my entire vector map directory from my old device. The maps displayed just fine but there were no themes available in Locus.
I have no clue what the root cause of the problem really is. But reloading the vector maps from the source fixed the Theme issue for me.

Hi gpsdualsport. your problem was a bit different then mine as I always had all of my themes but I just could not scroll between Calif. and Nevada as nothing would appear in Nevada until I went to the quick map select and selected it. Then everything was fine until I scrolled out of Nevada and when I tried to go back to Nevada it wasn't there again. I played around a bit with all the states I have loaded, about 3/4 of the united states from the west coast to the other side of Mich. and all of them seemed to work fine. So I got to thinking there might be something wrong with Nevada that got corrupted somehow when I upgraded.
I went to my file manager and deleted the Nevada vector map and then went to openandromaps and re-downloaded it. Now everything seems to work ok again.
Grrrrrrrrr. So I guess I figured it out......maybe......we'll see in the long run. :-/ What the hail would corrupt just one map ?

I want to thank you and everyone else that posted to my noob like questions. Locus has been a learning experience and hopefully what I just went through might help some other Locus uses without spending days trying figure this out. :-)

Thanks for that info SRT. Sometimes there is a section of a map that does not want to load. If I zoom way out it loads and then zoom back in again all is ok .
Locus is a way cool program but there are a few things that leave a little bit to be desired. But since I have been using Locus I haven't turned on my garmin....hehehe :-) I prolly forgot how to use it......
