So... I had a number of people contact me regarding their weather concerns for Saturday. I feel for those of you who are coming from far away, but the weather here for the 20th doesn't look bad enough to postpone the tech day. It'll be a cool day, to be sure, but only 10% chance of precip for the day. I'll try to get the space heater working.

If the forecast gets worse, I'll reconsider. I just don't want to make a late change for those who are making their own plans to be here.

That would be great, Mike. I only have one propane tank, so we can either use the oven or switch over to the grill when needed.

I checked and then remembered that I lent my propane tank away last year since I don't ever use it with no place to setup my grill and the person I lent it to has moved away and I won't be able to get it back before Saturday. Worse comes to worse I can pick one up at one of the propane places on Saturday in Monument or something?

I'll snag the 40lb out of my trailer too, there's about 20lbs 15lbs left in it. My 20lb is mostly full.

    Should be plenty.

Marty, if you need more propane, I have an extra 20 lb tank that I hardly ever use. I can fill it and bring it. I also have an electric overhead heater I can bring along.
I may be driving a 4 wheel vehicle instead of the KLR, but I plan to come out to help someone.

Santiago breakfast burritos are also on the menu.

We got 8" of snow yesterday, but it's almost gone already. Melting away fast.

I expect Saturday to be cold in the morning, then in the 50's through the day, so... cool but likely clear. Be careful with the deer and slick roads if you're riding down. If you're trucking or trailering down, move your vehicles back to the street after unloading, please.

We'll have coffee and cocoa ready in the morning. If the big garage door is down, it's because we're running a heater inside. Come on in the pedestrian door next to the vehicle door. If anyone is staying over Saturday night, let me know as soon as you decide.

As to cooking, we'll improvise as needed, depending on what food shows up and what grills are running. If necessary, we'll heat/cook food in the kitchen. It'll work our regardless. We'll have pizza and brats on hand, just in case.

Anyone who shows up early can call dibs on garage space, right after helping me move our bikes and prep the garage. Just sayin'...

Yes, Marty, there will be burritos ! How many do you think we need? 1 or 2 dozen!

also, I have a lot of firewood if you have a place for a campfire outdoors somewhere near the garage,

see you in a few hours.

No use for the wood, but thanks for everything else. We can cut a dozen in half and that should do it.

Hey! I futzed with my space heater and got it running, so the garage is warming up. Don't have a lot of gas, though. Coffee and hot water will be on by 9am.

Lower turnout but some bikes got worked on. Had more helpers on hand that bikes that needed work. That was different.

One snowmobile... so, not just for bikes anymore.

    Weather was fantastic. Pics later.

Once again my occupation conspired to keep me away but I thank you SgtMarty, this is an event on my bucket list and embodies the foundation of Advrider spirit.

I have my shift covered and bike getting dialed for Dino. Are you going to make it with some new bio-hardware? = Somebody has to keep @Colorado Uli in line.

    Looking forward to pictures.

    Cheers, Chris

Snowmule Mike is well-known in the snow sled community and frequently has his photos published. He basically brought his Halo-looking sled down so he could sit around in the sun and apply additional custom decals while others watched. We were able to chat with him after he was done.

This started as a KLR-only kind of tech day, but quickly became a anything on two wheels tech day, and now you don't even need wheels!

Gonna have the next tech day at my place in September. I'll be at the Dino Ride, but don't know yet if I'm riding or going with LaurieD in the sag wagon to get the campsites set up for the weary riders.

Snowmule also gives a lot back to the snowmobile community with his avalanche training/research & development.

Kuudo's to him, I believe he is welcome to bring anything he wants to a tech day.
