Today seemed like a good day to go to Shady Pass. It is between the Entiat Valley and Lake Chelan, 100 miles or so east of Seattle. The weather was as good as it gets, and aside from a few interesting spots, the road was great. Heading north from Wenatchee to the Entiat Valley, I turned west up one of the greatest paved roads there is. It winds up the Entiat River, and it is hard to maintain some resemblance of legality. [/IMG] After 27 or so miles of this, the turn to Shady pass is to the right. It is dirt and climbs very quickly. [/IMG] Once on top of the ridgelines, it is spectacular.
