Have been getting quotes for my 1190 R, I pick up next week. Got a quote from Shannons today who I had my previous 1200 GS insured with for over 5 years and never made a claim... wait for it ,....the quote was $1359..:huh.. apparently it is classed as a sports bike where my GS was classed as a tourer:rofl...so I rang insure my ride. much better at $677...then I rang QBE... $584 with $4000 rider accessory cover and pay by the month at no extra charge...shannons ...you really are way off the mark and youve lost me...

Make sure you give your dealer a crack at a quote, they get good discounts as an insurance broker

they have a specialist motorcycle site, I found it here....motorcycle-insurance .com.au then ring the 1300 number, they guarantee to beat any quote... they murdered my other quotes.:deal

Give Shannons a ring. They are Insure my Ride.
My wife just went through a similar thing with house and contents cover with AAMI; got about $800 of renewal price. Ring around but make sure you compare apples to apples.

My F800gs is due shortly ( Shannons ) so will be interested in the price.

I'm a bit over insuremyride as their payment options are limited - no direct debit from saving account or prepaid credit card and no BPay:huh

So, I'd be keen to hear how you get on with QBE:ear

I really cant see them knocking $800 off a $1359 premium, and if they did I'd tell them to shove it out of principaI. I'll be going with QBE at that price, if swann cant beat it.I have my house & contents insured with QBE[ irrelevant to the quote as they didnt ask if i had other policies with them] and have made a claim with absolutely no hassle whatso ever.

Weird, I've been insured with qbe for years as they were always in the top for pricing. When we bought the drz thought I'd give swan a go for the first year, but I ditched them and went back to qbe saved over $90 with the switch.
Interestingly, I got quotes for the last few bikes from BMW and the were surprised they were not competitive compared with with qbe.

Im with Shannons for 6 or so bikes, 3 cars and my house. Found them to be very competitive and great to deal with.

Had my bikes insured with QBE through BMW originally, had a claim last year with no problems of any kind and excellent communication and repairs completed. Prices are lower than other quotes I have received from other insurers.

i recently hit a Roo on my 1200GSA which the premium was $580.00, they wrote it off, paid for apparel no questions asked, got a quote for my Tenere replacement and it was $980.00, couldnt come close to swann & others, asked the question why and was told just some models they cant be competitive, i was happy with thier service, i guess they miss out.

I probably didn't make my point clear. We got the renewal for house and contents from AAMI and it had increased by almost $900 in 12 months. Rang around for quotes; Youi would do for almost $800 less. Got back to AAMI and after a brief discussion they dropped the quote by over $800. I suppose my point is shop around. I will be ringing Shannons today for a renewal quote ( our good mail service hasn't delivered renewal notice ) and if I am not happy QBE will be getting a call. See which one wants my money.

I don't have the figures with me, but I found Shannons a couple of hundred cheaper than QBE. Probably because I have my bike listed as extreme limited use i.e. only used once a month. Which is true. The bike does only make it out of my garage once every 4 to 6 weeks. It's not my fault that I then ride 1000km in a weekend :D

GIO is about $200 cheaper than QBE and NRMA was half way between to insure my Voyager, also read the fine print NRMA and GIO cover a lot stuff that QBE dosn't, I will most likely go with NRMA it's a better deal if you have a stack a couple thousand K's from home.
