I decided this week I want to take a trip down to Shawnee Natl Forest over Memorial Day weekend but think I got into the game too late for a cabin. I don't want to stay in a hotel in Carbondale if I don't have to, does anyone know of a reasonably priced cabin down there that's still available for a 2-night stay (Fri, Sat nights)?

    Look on shawneewinetrail.com under lodging.

Unfortunately I do not have any experience in any places listed.

More than welcome to camp in the yard (5 acres)
I'm on the far NW side of Shawnee. 30 miles from Murphysboro.

Did you find a place? You can try The Irish Inn in Ozark on Soloman Lane. Looking for a camping spot?

I think they no longer do this, they have taken their sign down far some time now. Feb 2014

    You might try this place

I was there last weekend for an offroad riding birthday party and the meal they catered was very good.

I found a B&B, then opted to stay home and relax this weekend instead. Thanks for the help!
