I've not started my valve adjustment job yet, but will this or next weekend.

I have a completes set of KTM shims, several of each size, that I bought a while back for my 250XCFW.

Will these same shims work in my 990??

    Those shims won't work. The dirtbikes use a smaller shim. The street bikes (LC8 engine, LC4 690, 350 exc/xcw, 450/500 exc/xcw, RC8) use a 10 mm shim.

You are in luck, because HOT CAMS now makes a cheap shim kit.
    Cyclebuy.com has them.

The HOT CAMS shim kit is in .5 increments, the Harley dealer sells them in .25 increments so between the two you can get the valves exactly where you want them more or less.

They are the shims for the VRod

I ordered the Hot Cams Kit from Cyclebuy.

Now I will have a set for small KTM bikes (and no small KTM bike), and
a set of 10mm for a big KTM bike.

    Thanks for the info
