I have Shinko 009 Ravens in 170/60/17-R & 120/70/17-F on my BMW R1150R now & have been great tires ,lasting & riding as well as any Metzler, etc. I've used before. I can get another set of the Shinko's from Rock Mtn ATV for $158.98/free ship-whats out there that is comparable tire & value wise? Please save the tire purist comments ,thanks

I tried the Shinko Verge, they seem to grip the same as the ravens,. but do not last as long. They appear to be dual compound as I now have significant wear on the sides. Which is good for bragging. But for the extra money I do not care. I am putting back on ravens. I have touched pegs lightly with both tires, ridden in rainstorms of biblical proportions, cold down to upper 20's, heat this summer 110+ no issues with either. I like Shinko.

I read an old thread here & people seem to stay with them unless they are a so-called tire purist. I have seen the nerwe Conti Motion for $107.86 + 69.39 + ship at $21. Also curious how they stack up to the Ravens?
Also, hello, we have talked before!

I've run quite a few of them on my FJR and I do like them for certain applications, that being commuting or long trips. On the FJR, the Raven tend to last a smidge longer than the old Stradas {even the heavy duty E Strada or what-ever it was}. I did not like the front Raven though,,,,, had it push a few more times than I liked and after the first front Raven there were no more. I ran an Advance front and a Raven rear. They would wear at roughly the same rate and you can just replace both at the same time.

My current Raven front is in fact not as smoothly worn as the rear. My dilemma is "will they make it through Mexico trip" ? or waste some rubber...
