    Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone has shipped an engine to GA. I'm shipping from NY and can't find an inexpensive way of shipping to an inmate in GA.

Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

I've used these guys before with good results. http://www.freightcenter.com/

Dealing with freight companies can be somewhat, um challanging some times, but probably the cheapest way to ship.

That would be true if I were selling an engine at normal price, but I'm not. I'm selling a good running engine for $250. :evil

You can ship on Greyhound... I threw in some rough estimates into their shipping calculator and came up with $85 New York to Atlanta.

That's a great (low) price for the sale of a running engine.

    Neato for some lucky dog.

KLR motors almost worth more out of the frame than in a rolling chassis.

    Like a kidney. :puke1

Thanks for the link, I had tried Greyhound but their website said 100 lbs max and the engine weighs around 120 lbs. Am I looking in the wrong section?

Sorry I did a rough estimate of 75 lbs. I have a hack on my KLR and I forgot what heavy bikes they are.

Looking at the site it does allow for oversize but says nothing about overweight.

I'm going to weigh the engine again just in case. I don't remember draining all the oil and coolant :huh

I'll give them a call anyways.

    Thanks!

I'll be heading down to Hatfield McCoy end of the month and continuing to Nashville and Loretta Lynn's Ranch for the fall trail ride. We"ll be passing thru Knoxville which is about 2~3hours north of Atlanta. Tammy may be coming down with my family out of Bergen County so she could get it from NY out to me in Pa for the ride down in my RV'? That wouldn't cost you a penny just some time on the buyers part to come meet me. Will firm up the dates here in the next day or two.

    PM sent.

    Hey Jeff,

Thanks for the offer but the buyer backed out. No biggie since I found a guy in Oneonta who needed an engine and I met up with him yesterday in Middletown NY.

Thanks again and have a safe trip!

Amtrak might work, biggest problem in NYC is that it would cost me $50 just to get to the terminal. Tolls are $13, gas is another $20 (I get 10 miles per gallon on my truck) and parking is another $25. In the end I end up selling the engine for $200....
