I am looking for advice/ideas on shipping a motorcycle from Madison, WI to Ancorage, AK next summer. The ride in Alaska and British Columbia on the way back would be outstanding! Anyone have any experience in this that could help?

Not enough vacation time. I would rather spend the time in the mountains instead of iron butting it out there and back. Besides, it would mean I would have to ride 4 lane.....YUCK!!!

I rode from Milwaukee area this summer. Make sure you ride it atleast one way, the ride is great, as long as you got your mind right for it, and realize it is a long ride.

Another option is selling the bike up there, but if it doesn't sell, I am not sure what you do.

I liked Fairbanks better, but I didn't give Anchorage much of a chance, but it seemed a big ole dirty town. To Valdeez, was one of the most scenic rides, from Anchorage.

How about you pay me to ride it up there. I'd love to and the governor will probably give me some time off to do it :(

Heck, you might not even need to pay me.

I was thinking of doing the same thing next summer also. Just don't have enough time to take and ride up and back. I was told that people ship there bikes up there and fly up and ride back.

Why not ride it up there and ship it back?
At least you will have the sensation that you are going somewhere instead of just coming back home.
Plus if something goes wrong with the shipping company it will not affect your trip because you already did it.
Sorry, you are asking about shipping and instead we are trying to manage your vacations. :dood
