The New Shoei Neotec Helmet has just been released in Europe. The Shoei Neotec is not officially announced for US sale yet, but we think it will be available in early 2012. As with all modular helmets the Neotec will be a DOT certified helmet and come with some great upgrades over the multitec it is replacing. Considering the the upgrades we expect the Shoei Neotec to come in slightly above the multitec in pricing. We will have a complete Shoei Neotec Helmet review to be coming soon and we will do an indepth comparison of the Shoei Neotec vs. Shoei Multitec once we have them in our hands. :D

    Features include:

    • New Internal Sun visor with no sacrifice in safety
    • 270% improved ventilation compared to the Multitec
    • 100% stainless steel Micro Ratched System ( replaces d-ring )
    • AIM 5-ply shock absorbent fiber shell
    • Multi-Density EPS liner
    • New Fully Removable interior ( multitec was not )
    • New optimized vent design for the Neotec Helmet
    • Smart Flip Chin bar, that shuts flush and is easy opening
    • 3 different size shells
    • 3 D comfort liner provides a better fit vs. the multitec
    • Ear pads to reduce the internal noise
    • Includes a breath guard and a chin curtain
    • Integrated spoiler
    • Integrated "Vortex Generator" provides active noise cancelling

I have been holding off buying a new helmet until Shoei's new flip-up. I hope this thing will be as nice as I am hoping!

Nice.. Let's hope the price won't be similar to the Schuberth C3's $700. I have a Multitec and find it super comfy compared to my C3.

Price will be well under the Schuberth C3...but the Schuberth C3 is definitely made to be $700
I like the new internal visor system they made to not compromise the helmet protection

    Long time Multitec user here...
    • Plus: built-in visor, improved ventilation, removable pads for cleaning, noise reduction
    • Unknowns: rachet system usage (I'm okay with the D rings), weight, replacement or companion to Multitec?
    • Need a price tag...these things don't go on sale, almost ever.

Between this Neotec, the Nolan N104 and the new Vemar Jiano EVO TC (which got an excellent review on WebBikeWorld) I've got some shopping to do for next season. Did anyone ask about Father's Day...?

I've been waiting a long time for Shoei to release a helmet that has an internal sun visor, pinlock, and a removable liner.

Seems like they are almost there - just need to wait for the next version of their full face helmet hopefully.

I have a Vemar on order now. I'll gladly put a review in a few days after I get it. I had already heard that the multitec and 104 were coming with internal visors and many improvements.......but no reductions in cost!

Yup, I am a little leary of the ratchet-style retention system. I really like my D-rings.

The Vemar is pretty nice with that LED system and the bluetooth setup! I can't wait to get my hands on the n104 to compare it to the n103

I have a well used Vemar Jiano and am very interested in the new EVO TC.

Colemanskeeper, please post a review once you get your EVO TC.

Whats the incentive to build the better mousetrap with this new ratchet thingy... do people have issues with D-rings? Im not worried about my D-ring fastener failing...

Ive really liked my multitech, and will probably buy the Neotech...sadly, I need a new helmet now, not a year from now.

I'm curious, why the most versatile ? What features does it have that make it the most versatile ? Just curious...

Ever used one? They are convenient. Easy on, easy off, even with gloves. Not that threading a D ring takes forever, but it is nice.
