    I always liked the looks of those better than the standard lightning. I guess the bigger tank is the main difference.

    Had a 91 in pearl white just sold it when I got my 03 1150GS.
    Did you change your shock mine the spring was covered.

    I don't know if 91s were affected, but there was a recall on WP shocks because of a dissimilar metal issue with pin eyes on the ends of the shocks.

    I have a 99 X1 that I have a tank bag and soft saddle bags that I outfit if for touring. I typically run 500 mile trips with no ill affects on the ole back and shoulders....

    Yes, I changed it. This is a "recall" shock, I bought it at a swap meet for $20. I still have the original PS shock.

    No they weren't, they were not WPs.

    Actually, I had bought a new M2 shock for my RS, and when the recall came out I called, to see about a replacement. They told me that my bike was not affected, even when I explained the shock switch.
