Riding down to the seacoast ( 500 km south ) we eventually run into a Russian and a Belorussian bikers who'd been heading in the same direction until one of their bikes seriously broke down ( the clutch died completely ): Luckily we managed to organize them evacuation all the way down to their destination ...by a lorry loaded with women's glossy magazines fresh out of printhouse.
damn, that's embarrassing. A bike that exists to enable a rider to cover copious amounts of miles at an unrelenting pace is put in the back of a pick up truck??? Shoulda bought a HD, dude.
I travel light! Actually this was when I flew to Georgia to pick the bike up and ride it home so I could only take carry on! It rained the whole way back to Connecticut and there was traffic the whole way! My view the whole trip back... Thank god for Bluetooth and Spotify!
My 1980 GS750e and 1983 GS1100e early in the morning before heading out on a 2500km ride to Banff AB and back. My cousin Dan and his wife on my 750 and me and my wife on my 1100. The old girls (the bikes that is) never missed a beat. The importance of maintaining your bike. And this is me and my wife. Don't normally go with out a riding jacket but it was 36 degrees that day.:eek1
