Found a couple cool old bridges while out wandering around today:









Both had open grate decks which required careful kickstand placement:

We paced it off at about a 43m span

Is that bridge support really setting on those cables?

I was wondering that as well.
By the pic I would say Yes, it is.

Kinda neat way to do it. It wouldn't bother you if the bridge was hanging from overhead cables would it?

I don't think I've ever seen that design before.

No don't mind hanging from, but huge difference sitting beam on those cables and everytime a vehicle goes crosses bridge the natural motion of that bridge is going to rub that cable quickly unless on rollers. But then those would need too be changed often you would think and would be a bear to do.
