I asked this and was told the German overlords think the best way to mount the bike is from the opposite side. They seem to think it is better since it positions your foot closer to the bike. Doing that with Adventure cases and a ham radio antenna doesn't work on my bike.

Great advertisement for White! Love it.

My current GS is white, so now you've got me thinking. If my red one doesn't come in first... who knows....

    Congrats!

The thunder grey really matches the bleak scenery and threatening skies.

Makes me want to see that combo in person. Might have to do some financial digging now that I see that. :lol3

The low seat is very comfortable... usually I switch to a TT seat, but this time I think I will keep the OEM seat. Same with the regular seat of my friend. They are a little less soft than previous seats, which provides more comfort on longer trips.

I have made 250 km one day and it was still good.

I am waiting on the adventure version. I am a big fan of the big gas tank, spoke wheels, and longer travel suspension. Plus being a big guy it fits me better. Gonna be hard to part with a paid for 08GSA with only 31K miles and fully, I mean Fully farkled.

I'm also waiting for the adventure version, I've got my name on my dealers waiting list for when it shows up.
It may seem extravagant, but keeping my 2 year old GS triple black and paying for an extended warranty plus tyres etc , it works out cheaper to have the new LC for a year on finance. Plus this time next year when I hope the GSA is out there'll be a wash of used R12GSs on the market and used prices might drop, whereas I'm hoping there won't be many used LCs for sale so should get a good trade in.
Who knows, I'm rubbish at financial things, but its worth a punt.
