Trouble with Pilsner Urquel is that it's now owned by SAB Miller http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pilsner_Urquell and isn't what it should be. I did a brewery tour there a few years ago and couldn't smell any brewing going on.
I'd recommend the proper Budweiser Budvar http://www.budweiserbudvar.co.uk/ which is still state owned and original. I could smell brewing at their brewery.:freaky

    I recommend Trumer Pils.

It's about the only thing I like about Berkeley, CA...

    LOL, you don't like hippies?
Been over 10 years since I was in Berkeley, all I remember is cheap felafel and expensive coffee

Thank you for the heads up Black Tiger. Unfortunately on our side of the pond all we get is St Louis, Missouri Budweiser. I will try that Berkley beer when I get down to Arizona later this summer. Hopefully will get some pics for this thread this weekend. Decided to sell the KLR and go with the one bike solution. Taking El Tigre II over to Dawson this week.

On my visits to the US and Canada I've found that there's plenty of decent "Craft" beer out there.
There used to be a website called "brewpubzone.com" which I used a few times to plan overnight stops on several USA tours. It listed all the Brewpubs, state by state, city by city, throughout the US. It has disappeared now but this could have taken over http://www.beer100.com/brewpubs_o_to_z/utah.htm . I got the impression that there was a brewpub or three in most decent sized "cities".
This http://beer.findthebest.com/l/4407/Apache-Trout-Stout one was so good I bought the T shirt.
And another example of the great places you have out there http://www.themoabbrewery.com/

Yes indeed, even in the middle of nowhere Americans can usually find something half-decent compared to the Buds and Millers of the world. You're so right in the fact that any (even small to mid-sized) city, or any college/tourist town is going to have some kind of micro-brew or brew-pub establishment around. Hell, last summer in the middle of the U.P. of Michigan not only did I find great beer at a crazy little gas station/general store in the middle of nowhere, they even had craft distillery spirits for sale. My wife and I bought a bottle of local "moonshine" to take the chill out of the cold spring nights while camping.

Finally had a day off last week and headed North to the Dragon, Cherohala and Hwy 28. Enjoyable day even with the fog/rain at the top of the Skyway....

We camped in the redwoods south and west of SF last year on our coast ride. Was way pretty up there.
