Good to hear. I'm 6'4''. I'll chop the top off on the weekend.
There is also this option from the same mob that flickit posted......
Looks cool but not sure how practical it would be. There is also this option
Personally I'm still not sure which way to go. At 6' 3" I'm also not convinced that going taller will be the answer. Perhaps Flickit's way is the way to go?? I hate chopping things off. I'm not good at glueing things back together
Barney if you chop it post your thoughts on the results. Be interesting to see what you think.
I have had an OTR taller screen on the bike for the last 18months and seeing as the original has been sat in the shed not doing much I thought I try and experiment with a short version. The tall screen made a big difference for higher speed transports. But when I've been on rougher more technical trails I've found it gets in the way disorting the field of vision.
I picked up my new Tenere from my local Yamaha dealer today. I just rode 100 kilometers, but I already love her.
the panniers are not on for now
Akra's....yummie + PowerCommander
Side by side with the big pig (my fast long haul wheels)
I've had mine only a week(1000 Klms later, thanks to No 1 son) they do ride sweet don't they!
Ok there seems to be a general consensus to chop the screen. Have to do something, it's like riding with an orbital sander strapped to your helmet at the moment.
All I have to do now is to find the courage to do it
I have one of these on and tilted well forward....helps a lot I must say.
Another option is to look for a second hand screen/crash damged and cut that and test it?
If it works cut your good screen then?
Mine's not perfect, but it's good enough:
I have the powerbronze adventure short screen on my bike and I makes a big difference. saves cutting down your oem one.
Can you get one gift wrapped and ship it to me for Christmas?......
Love it, it looks great!
Tenere's are still available here. I just need to get the gift wrap.
Yes, The Friar, they go sweet. My concerns about the limited power was baseless.
Yip,I can attest...good power for the twisties.... XTZ 1 Aprillia 0

Looks more like darth vader now!
Hmmm, don't mind the look of those
Thought I'd post a pic of the old and the new. Bought the XTZ from a fellow ADV'r (Chris if you happen to be lurking, the old girl is going well).
She's a '96 model with some 60000 Klm's on the clock. Hasn't had a lot done to her but boy she goes.
Difference between the two? Well the XT is more refined obviously. Haven't run the XT in properly yet so it is yet to be put to the test, but I suspect the XTZ will not embarrass itself
WIBO as a trial I did a bit of both. I had an old screen in the shed which I attacked with an angle grinder ( thanks flickit, it did melt more than cut ) and then stuck it to the existing screen about 10 cm higher. The result= happy rider. Vibrating helmet gone. So for now I think the extension maybe the way to go. See pic, I think I might go into production, definite seller!
Pyrenees look like fun. Though all the push bikes around at the moment could be an issue
A few shots from my recent Trans Lab Ride.
