    Hi,
I saw a lot of picture threads for nearly every bike but no one for the MZ bikes from East Germany!

Now, MZ friends: this is your threat!

Who rides an East German two stroke bike produced in Zschopau?

I am rebuilding my first MZ, a 1983 ETZ250 sidecar right now for winter riding.

    Thanks,

Schelbi (from the south-west of Germany).

I have actually posted this pic on the forum before. This was halfway through a 1800km tour in 2012 where my only luggage was a tankbag and a daypack.

    1988 MZ ETZ250.

I want to find another one to convert into an ISDT lookalike (as I've done with my Royal Enfield), but MZs are fractionally rarer than rockinghorse droppings in my country. I love the look of the 1968 real ISDT rep in the post above.

Thanks, BIG ED XT FAN. According to my "Motorcycle Buyer´s Guide Complete ´72 Lineup", a company called International Accessories in Hampshire, Illinois sold two offroad models, Cross Country 250 and Six Days 250. I suppose the Trophy Sport stayed in Europe. Mine is probably quite rare in Sweden as well, as we never fancied budget bikes very much here. I like mine thou!

    There is a TS250 and ES250/2

The latter one did fine, only a blown fuse due to my ignorance.

the picture shows the bike after a 28 year nap.
I have since taking it to bits and I am reassembling it with care with the help of Gunther from Ost2Rad who supplied my part.
    Superior service!!!!!!!
I have been a professional mechanic for 27 years and I am pleased how is this bike is assembled, and am looking forward to many years pleasurable driving.......

Well the web page says I may NOT post attachments, so use your imagination.

    Hello,

I got my parts from Ost2Rad, too. And I'm very happy with the service.

You can post a pic if you upload it to a picture hosting server.
    I use: http://picr.de/

Just upload the pic, then you get a html code. Then click on the "Insert Image" symbol above your adv reply window and enter the code.

    That's all!

Now please show us you MZ!

BTW, where are you from? I am from the border of Baden-Wuerttemberg and Bavaria.

Years ago, in the late 80-early 90's, one of the popular US bike magazines had a road test of this bike. There were several that had been left unsold in some lonely, forgotten warehouse, and they took delivery of it in the original wood crate. My google-fu hasnt uncovered it- I recall it was an amusing "look how far we've come" story and had lots of good photos. Any of you folks recall any more detail?
