    Hi All,

Here's some variety for you. A BMW 1150R set-up for back country. It's done all around Mexico and South America. Heading to Africa next.

    Ride Well,

I finally was able to upload the requested photo of the sidecar subframe from the rear. ( I am having trouble getting the photos reduced in pixel sizes). Hope this is what you wanted.

I had a blast down there - have you been to Corioco yet? Went from La Paz across the pass near Cumbre, down to Coripata then over to Corioco and up on the old highway - I hear it is alot safer today!:lol3 I'm not sure it would be so easy on a hack because the old road was so narrow I would lean my bike over against the inside of the turns and let the trucks go by!:eek1

That rig sure looks pretty, great job with the camouflage in the snow :D
I was wondering about the upper attach points for the sub-frame to the bike? Yours is much newer and I wonder what changes Champion might have done.
My front sub-frame has been welded since it was installed (prior owner) so I assume it must have cracked at one time. I am thinking about removing both sub-frames and having some gusseting added for added strength. Then I can have it re-powder coated. When the prior owner welded it he just painted over the weld.
Thank you for posting the photo.

Very nice Short Stuff, looks stout. I have a friend with a GL 1500. I've been trying to get him over to the three wheel side for a while. Maybe this will do it.

We´are just building three different BMW R 1150 GS outfits for a really special treip to the orient. First step of modifying the sidecar body of the second project-bike Transitus Arabiae is finished. The seat width is now about 60 centimeters. Next step is creating a higher seat position. Therefore the body has to be a bit higher. The body will be cut again, now horizontally exactely at the beading. A strip of fiber will be laminated between the two halfs. More information in the near future.

Work on the first project BMW R 1150 GS combo Transitus Arabiae is going on. The leading link fork is finished, also the 17" front wheel and the 15" rear wheel. Sidecar is at the painter. I´m conviced, that this hack will be finished in time.
