My contribution. Man was I tired after that ride!
I wasn't quite sure where to put this but here goes,......
For modern, well sort of, bikes, I put together this rig. A 1998 R1200C and Champion Daytona sidecar. http://pokiespages.com/james.htm
If you like older stuff, here's a story about my daughter and I taking a trip on a /2 BMW and modified Steib. http://pokiespages.com/trip98.htm
I don't know if this is the proper place or not, but thanks anyway: good read!
thank you, a fine adventure.
Love the Leaner .
Who did the build?????
Thanks for the compliments!
Looks like a simple set up , did you just set all the wheel settings square or did you have a few angle on the wheel .
Is the frame on the bike pivots set on different positions to make the side care turn .
Have you got any details or drawings with measurements ???
Blocked from opening.:huh
The sidecar has just a little toe-in to keep it steady at high speed.
The front pivot is 8cm higher than the rear pivot, this helps the steering a lot.
The total width of the combination is around 185cm and the wheel base width is 143cm. The sidecar wheel axle is placed 25cm before the rear axle.
I've got loads of pictures but no drawings. I've created this just from a few sketches and from images in my head based on experiences I've had with building the first prototype on my GSX.
I can't understand the voices in my head: they always seem to be intoxicated...
Barnone, where's your photograph gone?
Not my thing.
And it's nice to be able to disagree.
Thankfully it's not most people's thing either
