My mud buddy:
I know it's not really a hack, but I couldn't think of any place else to post it.
My son really misses dad's Bavarian Classic!
AFAIK the front end is connected to the transmission in the rear that splits power to the two sets of tracks. Muscle the front end to do a left turn and the right track receives more power than the left track, turning the whole thing left.
10,000 miles on it this summer. Tons of fun!
Great traveling + camping rig. between 35-40 mpg two up.
Here is my new Battle Scooter! Waiting for the mudd to come!! :)
I hope the mud arrives soon for the Ural's sake, because it's looking WAY too clean and shiny in that pic.
proff that anything can be made.
MZ- I'm still gonna hit you up for a ride one day
These rigs are only use for marathons (NYC, Boston, Chicago)...We also use some single trac motos for bicycle races.
Old photo Tour DeTrump
Rehersal run NYC marathon
ENG, still photo set up. (sorry not a hack)
Pin me down man! I've promised so many and delivered so few..........
Got a wilbers for the sidecar now, have to get it mounted up this winter, should ride hella better next season!
Can you post some pics of the sidecar mounts and subframe on your bike.
Like to see how things are done
And that is exactly how a Ural should look...
Here you go -
rear upper mount (attached to seat subframe)
Front upper mount (attaches to upper engine rod + around crash bar)
You'll have to find the story in this other sidecar thread.
I like these better
I know I keep postin' these but dammit, I love lookin' at 'em
Our own Forum! And I thought we were the bastard children
The R75/5/Dnepr was a bit small for my wife AND our dog, so I put this rig together next:
Not mine but I rekon this is one of the best I've seen.
