Fellow Motopsycoists; It is now summer.
Fall will be upon us soon. In the sierras that means RED & GOLD in the mountains.
Lets meet up and ride the passes and enjoy the scenery

    Date: October 22-24
Location: Calaveras BigTrees State Park just out of Arnold on Hwy4

Event: FARM Rules Apply. BYOS, BYOB, BYO.....everything.

This is not an ADV organized ride/event. I will not be there to greet you and hold your hand to set up your camp or your ride. This is a walk in camp ground so you would be encouraged to arrive in time to get your own site. :deal

    UPDATE: 20 October
I have called the campground. Make note of the following

    1 site:
    ~35-$37 PER DAY
    8 Person max/ site
    1 Vehicle/ site
    $8 per extra vehicle :becca
    >>>>1 vehicle is any plated/licensed vehicle so thats $8 per bike PER DAY. :fyyff :puke2

Also, the girl said to bring a tarp for your tent. I guess it can get a little funky if it rains.

    Beemer Bash. Sept 17-19.

I like the long weekend idea. But I need to get my bike mojo together. Right now all I've got to ride is my XR. Everything else needs a wrench and some $$$. I'm going to put some blue dye on some asprin and try to raise some cash on the internet.

We try to get over Hwy. 88 into Hope Valley every Fall for the colors. They are truly spectacular. Mebbe an Indian Grinding Rock campout is in order. It's on the way to or from.
Usually the 2nd or 3rd week of October is when the colors start to get really good.

Are you talking about the Sierras as in Tahoe/Truckee, further south or both?

It is my favorite time of the year to do the Hwy. 49 though Downieville to 89 to Truckee and back home down 20, 150 nice miles.

I've been wanting to do some fall color rides. The passes in October sound great. I've done Hope Valley 88 in the past, beautiful colors. I'm also going to ride the Feather River route 70. It should good thru much of October and it is a fun ride along the river.

I recommended Indian Grinding Rock due to it's lower altitude. As Gary noted, the higher elevations can be damned cold in October, plus IGR has good food nearby. Just a thought.
