A couple months ago B and I cleaned up 30 miles of downfall on the Sipapu area single track. We got rid of about 30-40 trees just before the Sipapu resort rally.
I went back today for the first time since then and it has been raining a bunch and the trails are great. Not much dust, things are green, flowers are out and I found only 4 downed trees (cleaning them up tomorrow).
Meeting at Amole Canyon Sunday 9am if anyone wants to join us...

A few photos from when B and I cleaned the trails and from today..

    God bless you guys!! :thumb

I would live to ride with you but have either been riding my trials bike or limping around with a pinched nerve in my back.
Not much single track yet this year. :cry

After the national trials in August I hope to get going on more ST and would like to hook up with you guys.

Have you been up Osha yet this year?? That one has been bad with downfall in the past few years.

Is it a requirement that we walk like an Egyptian?
What do you think my DR650 would think of this trail?
Thanks a million for your work.

Keep in touch Gordy and lets ride when you get better. I have a chronic bad back so I know the pain involved.
Did Osha last Fall and had a blast. Definitely some dead fall but not too bad.
I bet there is more this year due to the heavy Spring winds and drought.
Maybe that will be our next mission for cleanup. Cheers, Atom...

Not sure what Mr White was doing there. I just snapped a photo and noticed his jig later. He must have just been happy.
The 650 could handle it but it would be a workout for sure. Smaller bike is better on this particular trail (trail 8).
Tons of forest service roads and 4 wheeler tracks around that area for the bigger bikes. There is a great ride from Sipapu over to Angel Fire via FS roads that is awesome...

    Cool!
We did Up Gallegos and down Tio Maes when we were up for the NMOHVA/Trials last month and they were good. I think it was Gallegos that had about three good sized trees down that required some stupidity to get over.

I have chronic back pain but then on any given day, something additional can be hurting too! :lol3

Thanks again for the clearing work!

Thanks for all your work on the Sipapu trails atomizer!! :clap That is definitely a great place to ride and the trails are challenging. I haven't been up there (other than trials) for a couple of years now to ride single track, but it must be about time to give it a go again. We're overdue for a Sipapu single track run, huh Gordy? :deal

It probably is more comfy than the KTM seat. I however have never seen B-rad ever sit down while riding so hard to know :D

Went back today with a little hand saw. We decided the couple big downed trees were too much for us and the saw to handle. So we left them. They are not to hard to get over and it seems like they are deterring ATV traffic. Ooops, did I just say that out loud?
Today was awesome. B-rad and J-rad joined me and we did the super cool 30 mile loop of mostly single track. Highlight was watching a herd of over 100 elk cross the trail in front of us. It was like an elk army invasion. Tons of baby elk and some monster bucks. In the 10 min it took for them to cross I never even considered taking a photo. I was mesmerized. Ride on...Beers, Atom...:freaky

yes, the husky chainsaw seat mod is way more comfy then the stock ktm seat. I recommend it to everyone!! lol,.....not.

it was a great day working on the trail. even better day yesterday when we rode it without down trees.

hopefully we can rally the troops every spring for a trail maintenance day.
