Forecasted lows for the next couple nights locally are in the single digits. The ground is pretty frozen, so it might be time to gear up and revisit all the muddy places. The Forest Circus has cut some new roads, but they were still pretty squishy last time I hike them. Not so much now, I bet.... time to explore!

14° here now. Forecast says lowere next few nights. We got a full ground thaw Sunday at a nice 50 degrees, which turned the 2-6" of frost into 2-6" of goo. Stayed warm all night, but lowered to 35° by 7am Monday morning.

We had a pretty big Cat come to get Hood River's 35' Christmas tree that we donate every year, first thing Monday morning. You oughtta see the 2-6" tractor tire ruts it put in our place!! Now it's all frozen that way again. Kinda hard to walk the dogs through that mess now.

Oh well, the tree looks nice set up downtown HR :clap

    Thanks LB-

I've got job hours like you-early to bed and way early to rise. I was going to try and make the meet you folks had(I've got Tue-Wed off) but, life got in the way. I may have a stretch off coming in January. Want to go for a ride? :evil

OK, OK, I'll quit whining now....
    Holy, Moly :eek1
It still beats 35° and hard rain, like we usually get in early Decmber. At least it's pretty out there, and it keeps my mood up

Yeah, the Scrambler made me late today. Ran the battery flat with nary a pop. Put it on the charger, ran out and pushed the button every five minutes until it finally fired and caught. Brisk ride in, but damned pretty. Everything was so....crisp.

OK yesterday the high was +9 [almost noon and then -8.7 at 1600; this morning under clear skies it was -15.7...hell, I can barely go out for walks let alone ride! OK, no complaints, living hell here is outstanding...just in the shoulder season, not enough snow to backcountry ski and too damn frigid to ride [not to mention glazed ice on roadways].

Snow squeaks and is not melting but sublimating....too cold for a water phase:wink:

Today at 1450 hrs....in Joseph...colder here at my home.
