I am looking for a paved route from South of St George, Ut to Yosemite to be ridden in mid May this year.

What is the best/most interesting way to skirt around Area 51? It looks like there are two ways, through Las Vegas and then up 95 to 266 to CA 168 and then north?
    or

the eastern route, leaving I 15 at NV 168 to US 93 to NV 375 to US 6 to Ca 120?

I will not be camping. And any safety pointers to be considered on either route?
    Thanks

If you see a drone coming toward you, get away from your bike which
produces a prominent heat signature, and run as fast as you can.

I prefer the 15/168/93/375/6 route to Tonopah. But be aware that from Alamo to Tonopah there's no fuel at all, over 200 miles. Be sure to stop in Rachel and check out the UFO stuff and they make good sandwiches too.

Also, even thou you can see for miles and miles out there, be aware that there's wild horse everywhere and they will run across and down the highway and they are very unpredictable. In a motorcycle vs horse match, horse wins!

US 93, NV 375, US 6 Alamo to Tonapah about 160 miles.

How do you spell horse? I think the spelling changes out by the 93/6 :evil

+1 on needing a 200+ mile range if you take 375, however I was able to get gas in Rachel last fall ... and at $5 per gallon it was a pretty good deal. They keep several 5 gallong jugs locked up. It took a while for the guy with the key to show up but I wasn't complaining. As soon as the girls at the bar heard it was for a motorcycle, they were very helpful.

Google is showing 161miles Alamo to Tonopah. Am I missing something?

Also, instead of 168 to 93, has anyone done Hurricane, UT to enterprise then 319 to Caliente, then Tonopah? A little longer, but not by much.

Is this any better than 168->93? Looks like it is more remote and that could mean even less ava gas.

I am going to have a half gallon with me.

    Thanks

It is named the "Extraterrestrial Highway" because a number of people have reported loosing hours or days crossing that section, presumably due to being unconscious during their abductions. You won't know how long they left your bike idling while you were being probed. :huh
