^ Cool. Can't wait to see it.

Per our discussion last night, I think FatBob and _cy_ are accompanying me on Monday afternoon to meet some media at AHR. Anyone that wants to join us is welcome. We'll be heading there by way of BA and Coweta (aka the south route).

I am picking up my Horse supplies at Farmers Feed in Sapulpa. In addition to helping me find and pick out supplies, they also make a contribution of wormers and other stuff that I take on their behalf to the AHR. If you are spending money on supplies it might be good to support a local business who has made contribution to the event for the past 3 years.

I sent the link out to some of my Facebook friends. They are guys I went to high school, and have recently ridden with.

How's that for a poorly constructed sentence!

Agreed. Any T-towners willing to plan a route? My laptop is currently down and I can't do much for a few days.

We plan to meet Saturday morning at 9am at Savoy Cafe and arrive at AHR at 1pm.

Well, folks... I went to AHR this afternoon :vardy and had a long chat with Tamie (AHR Founder).

    Here is their current situation:

AHR uses about 5 round hay bales per week to help feed their herd of 25 rescued horses. Count their supply and it's clearly evident that they barely have enough to get through the month. This has been their limiting resource in 2012. They typically have a steady stream of donated hay to fill their needs, but due to two years of drought, this has not been possible lately. Their suppliers have no surplus to donate and AHR has been buying hay locally for up to $85 per bale because the drought has prevented baling their own hay pastures.:eek1

AHR is supported solely by donations, so when the supplies and cash run thin, Tamie and Al have to dip into their own pockets. Tamie noted that the Snotcicle Ride is their biggest event of the year in respect to donations.

If anyone has any contacts that might be able to source hay (either donated or somehow discounted), then that could make a significant impact on how AHR gets through the winter. Let me know how we can help get some hay or call Tamie to make arrangements. Thanks.
