Back to Whitetail in the morning. I spent the last two days at Roundtop and they are in very good shape.

No crowds, the best $10 you can spend to ski. No snow making, conditions governed by Mother Nature.

Thursday morning is looking pretty good for skiing/boarding at Blue Mountain, if anyone is interested in joining me.
Might be the last chance for a while getting decent firm snow.
Valley Lodge at 8:00 at the front, kick stands up at 8:30!

The weather for the next couple of days does not look good. However, it looks like it's going to cool back down next week. I wish I could play hooky and go snowboarding tomorrow but I have bills to pay. However, I am heading to Whitetail after work today.

Damn it's been awhile since I've seen all that. I learned to ski when I was young in South Jersey at a small place, Holly Mountain??? I now snowboard.

Then the Poconos & then New England.
I knew there was more out west, moved to Colorado and never looked back. I still remember my first time on a foot+ fluffy powder day...mind blowing.

I've been in the Backcountry with snow shoes, on snow cats and snow mobiles. That's a whole another level up with fresh tracks all day vs a ski area. I want to heli ski next.

In all that, I've retained all my East Coast skills of riding ice. My western riding friends will bitch to no end when it's not soft. I just say I grew up on it so no big deal.

    Thanks for the memories!

They say if you can ski in the East, you can ski anywhere. Today, though, the snow was perfect. Soft, and the ambient temperature was 40 degrees F. Priceless!
I got my helicopter trip off my bucket list for my 40th birthday. Mike Wigley's Helicopter skiing in the Bugaboos.

But, alas, now day skiing at Blue! Today, though was special, because my recently graduated Civil Engineer son joined me! He starts working next week, so this is his last mid-week hooky day in a while!

Great pictures and great point about skiing on the east coast. I made my first trip out west last year and several people I spoke with complained about the crappy weather they had been having that season. Apparently they were short a few feet short on snow for the year and allegedly someone had possibly felt some ice at one point! I thought the conditions were great. I hope to be able to fly out west again this winter.

Nothing glamorous but we've been shredding the steeps, night skiing at Sundown, for the past few weeks :imaposer
More like going to a cold gym than skiing, but it gets us off the couch and conditions us for mid-week drinking, er, uh, skiing.
Looking forward to epic powder tomorrow. A massive 5-7 inches, better wax the powder boards :uhoh
May take more than 3 minutes to do one run :fpalm
