Elk is a great mountain, but I have some VERY cold memories from college days. Froze my ass off there a couple of times, especially at night.
I'll stick to Blue, which is much closer for me.
Got in 15,000 vertical feet today between 8:30 and 1:30. Perfect groomed trails and "balmy" conditions! And, of course, a BLT for lunch!

8 inches of new snow at Blue Mountain.
Anyone else considering going up in the a.m. (Sunday) to slide a little?
7:30 a.m. at the Valley Lodge
KSU at 8:00 a.m. for a few powder runs.
    Shouldn't get crowded before 11.
    Dirt bikes again on Monday!:-)

Ski Roundtop was a mess today. I think every hacker and knuckle-dragged from 150 miles showed up.
    And the snow sucked.

It is the early bird that gets the worm. Yes, I went up early to Blue, and skied for a couple of spectacular hours. Even the drive up was beautiful:

What a treat to have deep powder in February!

But, yes, it was a zoo by 10:00 a.m. The advantage of a season’s pass is that you can ski for two hours, get in 6,000 vertical feet, then get out of Dodge!

Yup I went over around 5:30 last night and got a free pass from a Liftie friend as mine is a "Weekday Only" pass! The place was a zoo then but around 6:30 it seemed like everyone was running out to get home and the lift lines were down to maybe a 2 minute wait. The beauty of it was it still just dumping snow about an 1-2" an hour.

Skied Right up until 10:00PM making Fresh tracks with each run! Not very often you get to Figure 8 your own tracks on that mountain!

I have a PSIA clinic @ Blue on March 9th. I hope this week's weather doesn't do anything in.

Skied Whitetail today and it was fine but I think they will loose at least 3 runs by Thursday.

    20180220_075549[1].jpg A foggy start this morning @ Whitetail PA 41 degrees @ 8:15 am.

20180220_081323[1].jpg By opening the fog lifted and only one trail was closed.

20180220_105911[1].jpg By the time I left for lunch the temp was 64 degrees.

20180220_132220[1].jpg So when I got home it was time for a ride.l

I rode up to the sister mountain Round top... they were giving pint glasses out.

Though you had to buy a Sweet water draft.

20180224_091855.jpg 2 days of skiing in the rain was enough so I left Whitetail after 8 runs.

I hope Whitetail, Liberty and Roundtop can make some snow. The parent corp doesn't much like to make snow after the end of Feb. I've heard it's because they have to buy power at full-price?
In any event, the season started out with a bang and seems to be going out with a whimper.

Man, we were off to such a solid start. Anywhere on the Ice Coast is crushed by now. I really want to get in some more days, this whole month has been stupid warm.
