Well as of 6:30 AM NOTHING of any significance here at the BASE of Blue so I came into work. While going up over the mnt there was about 3-4"of fresh snow at the higher elevations. Will report back on my way home around 3-4PM

The natural tendency of forecasters is to overreact after they miss the boat on a storm. Not sure the folks around NYC expected they would be burning wood stoves for heat and using candles to read for a week after the last storm. So, predict the worst, hope for the best.
While we are on the subject, don't you think it's amazing that we can send vehicles to Mars, have them orbit or land their, but we still have our electric grid being held up by toothpicks in most neighborhoods, next to trees that can take them out in a heart-beat?
Might be time to spend less time manufacturing and selling weapons of war and more time fixing our electric grid, our roads, our bridges, our water containment systems.

I’m not going to rant too long since this is a skiing Thread but since you brought it up , as a Former United States Marine, I feel compelled to interject my opinion regarding the subject matter you speak of.

How about we do both. Rebuild our nations infrastructure (power grid, water systems, roads bridges) you mention and continue to build and manufacture the weapons of War needed to keep this Nation Safe. Drop the needless spending on Government programs that don’t work! Quit the needless spending on our Government Officials that serve one term and draw a pension for life. Stop the Secret Service protection these clown get for the rest of their life! It’s all corrupt Governmental Waste to one degree or another and We the People Pay the price!

Rant over back to the misguided forecast!

Wow, what a treat! Perfect groomed trails of soft, luscious Colorado skiing in Pa in March!
Got a couple of hours, and 10,000 vertical feet in at Blue. Sun was shining. 35 degrees. Priceless!

Similar amount here this morning in SE Adk's. Just enough base for some more woodland and winter single track fun today.

We didn't get what I hoped for the other day. I still got another pass for Roundtop to use. I took my 3 year old over 6 times so far and he is loving it. I'm going to shoot for Monday and Friday next week before I have to return his skis. After that I may try to get in a day or two by myself since I took him with me every time. I got my brothers to go so far every time but the first. My dad showed up the first time to watch and I was able to get 5 or so quick runs in while he fed him lunch. That was the first time I ever skied without poles. I got some weird looks at the lift lines.

Blue should be nice today as she made snow all night! Several PSIA classes and certs going on today! Good luck to those testing!

Also we did get some freezing Rain -Ice snow overnigt. And it’s still coming down very late but the roads are covered Enough to coat the roads locally. Give yourself some extra time to compensate for those less fortunate that just don’t know how to drive!
