I picked up a 99 VFR800 last week, and the factory suspension is too stiff for me. The guy that owned it prior to me was about 20+kg heavier than I am.

Can anyone recommend a good place in Sydney that can swing spanners on it to make it more compliant for me?
It has all the adjustable bits that I am unfamiliar with, coming from a zzr250.

    Thanks!

I remember Tony Kirby (Sidetrack magazine) used to get Frank Pons to do some work for him, and always raved about the results in his articles..... not exactly sure where he's situated in relation to you though.

Frank Pons is the man for sure, can setup anything to suit anyone in my experience, you just have to be honest/realistic about your talent. He's Biketek at Minto, but he'll visit you too. In fact he's visiting me next weekend when he'll be setting up a dozen bikes over 3 days.

I would recommend Zeno at Zenodamper in Sydney as well, he does most of the quick VFRs in Sydney (and plenty of other quick bikes).

Over the last fifteen years or so i have dealt with three different suspension people, those being terry hay, sean o'sullivan and frank pons, i could only recommend the first two. However if it is only set up you require "learn to fish and you will never go hungry". The internet has shirtloads of articles and how-to's on set-up of varying value. Please see if this link works for you, read through it especially the section with the cartoon characters, it will start to de-mistify the black magic.:*sip* http://www.sportrider.com/suspension_settings/suspension/146_1004_sport_rider_suspension_guide/
