Taking the long way to Rocky Mountain House from Grande Prairie. Have a few things left to do to the bike in order for it to be ready. Minor stuff, install 12v plug for charging goodies, clean air filter and install tool tube. Oil change has been done (several times...that's a long story). I have a few spots that I want to stop at but the route to get there is an open book. Jasper is the first stop for breakfast with my brother and sister in law, after that it's Adams Lake. Three Valley Lakes, Nakusp, Kaslo, Creston, Cranbrook and Crowsnest Pass are a few points of interest. From there it's north on hwy 40 until I hit Rocky for the GS challenge.
I'll be posting pics and route info whenever I get wifi or cell service and will attach a link to my spot once I get the share page set up.
Follow along and enjoy the ride! I know I will!

I do love a good KLR RR and the combination of your opening shot and the tripod strapped on your gear has me looking forward to your photos...

Finally made it to Adams Lake and camped at Momich River campground. Great place and the people there were locals from Vavenby and were great to chat with.

Woke up too early this morning, had breakfast and coffee and was packed up by 7:30am. Was planning to leave by 10am, gives me more time to explore I guess!

The paved road from Nakusp tp Kaslo is one of the best in all of BC. That said, there are some great un-paved roads too. You can either go North from Nakusp around via Trout Lake to Kaslo. Or go south back to the needles ferry and keep going south along the lake and follow the powerline over the mountains and come out near Slocan. Again you can't go wrong in BC.

Oh and i didn't know you could go to the north end of Adams Lake. Going to add that to the list. A great bypass for Kamloops.

Norris, the road to Adams Lake was incredible. I'll send my track to you once I get home. Going to take your advice and head back to needles ferry to Slocan. Ended up in Nakusp last night trying to out run a storm. I lost, rained so hard I would have been dryer jumping in a lake!
